Sharp. It's not a four letter word that begins with Sh.
Looks like a lot of TV for the price. Bargain!
Difficult to argue with a full HD 40" TV for less then £200 irrespective of the brand.

Hotttt
Nice one OP!

Son wanted a new TV for his bedroom, and as he only wants if for xbox and youtube etc....this is ideal from a brand you've heard of!

£200! Cost less than a ps4!
Set this up for someone, IMO pay extra, the smart interface is like dial up speed prior to broadband, remote and GUI is not friendly, took an age to get wifi connection with router NEXT TO IT. stand is wobbly.... I can go on

I don't think they are made by Sharp anymore , Hisense took over the name .
Does anyone know the response rate? I was thinking about getting a 40" as a gaming "monitor" for a racing sim setup, tempted at 200 quid. Don't need any smart features or wifi.

Had a look and some sites say 50hz
When did Sharp change to Hisense?
I remember a few years ago I saw one of their Quattron TVs in John Lewis and the picture was way better than anything else on display.

Makes no difference until next year, they only announced the deal in August and they switch isn't planned until 2016.

So it's still a Sharp TV
I bought this and the smart features are next to useless. No Netflix or Amazon. However the picture is good and fine for a PS3. Resolved the smart issue with a £25 Amazon firestick which is really impressive.
pointless buying this when you get get sharp 40" smart TV.. from Tesco. £239

Why?
When there's smart alternatives out there like Fire TV and Now TV for under £20.

They still make those "real" Sharp tvs that are really nice for Asia and America.only Europe is infested with these fake rebadged models.
Great price with 3 HDMI ports.

I have something that may interest you if you doing a sim racing set up .
I have an racing pod complete with bucket seat endorsed by some BMW racing driver
And it has a Logitech gt 25 steering wheel gear stick both 6 speed and hi/low .....
And 3 pedels .great bit of kit but only used it a couple of times a TV can be mounted to it but I was gonna saw that bit off and use the TV in the wall ... I live in Leicester so if your interested keyvne know ..... The pod cost about £600 + new without the wheel. Would be happy with £200 for the lot... The steering wheel Works on ps3 and PC as far as I'm aware

The current EU Sharp range (excluding their 60"+ models) are manufactured by UMC, they're still made in the same factory in Poland but UMC are more well known for manufacturing cheap supermarket own brand TV's
Nice one. Been after a bedroom tv and using my club card vouchers too makes this a no brainer. Will use my fire stick for smart features.
Gonna give it a go as a bedroom tv. Thanks op

Could you PM me with the details, I might be interested, but I suspect the shipping to N.Ireland would be a bit much.

(P.S. I'm writing my own racing sim for the PC - I'm trying to get 3 screens to support triple screen play)

The sharp you have heard of is not the sharp of today, name was sold off etc.
when is a *BRAND not BRAND when they are selling to people in the UK these days

more and more of what people used to call sharp practice is being used to legally to con and defraud people by selling something that it is not

is it the washing machine industry where one corporation owns 5 or 6 brands and still sells them as separate brands whilst a lot of the parts are interchangeable ?

makes you think that all the money is being consolidated to the top few percent of people and they keep all these brands going to fool joe bloggs that there is still competition when in reality there is not

Which is fine as many people use a soundbar or surround sound system anyway as most TV's have awful tiny speakers in.

Should I get this to dual screen with my laptop? xD
Serious question though
Some of the Hisense stuff coming out is really good quality their ULED curved range gives Samsung a run for their money.
should be good for the laptop monitor use.

... come the revolution... :-)

Badge engineering has gone on for a very long time; some people are happy to pay £10,000 more for an Audi model that is very similar to a Skoda, which is fine if the badge makes them feel good (rather than daft).
... almost forgot, heat added, this is a good deal.

Perfect for consoles then for 25fps

Someone else has pm`d says he's willing to collect .but hasnt got back to me ...
If he's not interested possibly would ship but buyer pay and arrange courier ... But would prefer collection
does it have 2 USB's or 1 USB port? the description in Tesco and the tech specs are contradicting
Does this play downloaded movies straight off a USB stick?

No problem, collection is the only sensible option really.
