This seems a steal for a new model, full HD, and Freeview HD tv.

Currys and PCworld have it "reduced from £799.99 to £649.99", but for some unknown reason its listed as £479 on their sister website, Dixons.

Review here gives it 4/5, and was only written last week.

For those who can't be bothered to read the review, here's their verdict:

"...
...Great contrast, fine detail and spot-on colours just go to show how good the budget end of the TV market is becoming.

There are minuses, most notably with that Freeview HD interface, weak audio, and noticeable judder, but if you can find the LC40CT2E for around £650, you've got yourself a bargain.

I have seen the figure jump up and down, so there are ppl out there voting cold, but unwilling to explain why!!

I think its very hot, but then i posted it

Sounds a hot deal, does the USB do Divx and MKV playback?

Is this a 40" or a 42"?

There is also a LC42CT2E floating around. I cannot imagine Sharp produce two models so close in size. 37 and 40 or 37 and 42, yes, but 40 and 42.... doesn't make sense.

I saw the 42" in John Lewis Oxford Street showing the tennis last week and it was very clear. JL was selling it as LED backlit, which was interesting as I'm sure it's CCFL. However, it is not very thick - only 30mm which, is very thing of a CCFL.

Shame other reviews have said it has a clunky UI and lacks decent picture processing.

Just been on the Sharp website and can only find the 42" in this model. DSG exclusive or are they advertising a 40" and you end up with a 42"?? Heat added. Sharp make cracking screens, I remember my Sharp GX20 mobile phone, so clear.

And don't forget Quidco.........
