I got this email too....

There are better sets around for the money. Just as it's LED doesn't mean it's super.

but it does mean it uses less electricity....

Yes, so? Most people buy a TV for a high quality picture, not to save the world.

is this a good deal?

This tele has been getting mild reviews, much better ooh the 42' panny in John Lewis for£699

..and much much thinner

I was told by a bloke that works in richer sounds that sharp are using the same panels as pioneer and said they are very good for the price.

Good call.

Personally, my KRP500M also doubles as a radiator.

Is it worth the extra £100 for the 100hz version?

It might be that Sharp may have supplied Pioneer with LCD panels as I believe Pioneer only manufactured their own Plasma panels (unfortunately not any longer).

Could be - the 700E gets a very good review at What Hifi -

is this tv any good guys - is it worth spending my hard earned doh on this ?

It is worth reading the review @ Trusted Reviews - they give both the good and the bad points of the set - for me the bad outweigh the good unfortunately.............

If your willing to spend another 100 quid for the 100hz you might aswell spend £150 and buy a Panasonic G15 and get 600hz!, plus this is an AMAZING television by anyone's standards.

There are far greater tvs in this price range than the one in this thread, but if LED is that important to anyone click away.

Could you please point out said tv's.

I'm looking for one for use with a PC (eg rules out plasmas due to image burn). Used for movies and Games.

Thanks

Got to hate the way manufactures advertise their sets these days.

This is just a normal LCD driven via an Active matrix, still hase all the usual problems LCD's have other than the uneven back light.

Much better sets out there for the money.

I've used my PC on my Panny plasma for hours on end and never had image burn. Temporary image 'retention' yes but that disappears soon as you change channel for 30 secs or so.
