Sharp 46" Full HD LED TV further reduced to 299.99 earlier it was sold by Argos for 329.99, So a saving of 30 quid

Only difference is Sharp 5 Yr Warranty on LED TV no longer available as that offer expired on 30/09/2014

Even Argos is also selling same TV @349.99

I don't know what is the difference between two but model number is exactly same

no harm but you will need the 5 year warranty with sharp and their customer service is awful.

Got this telly at the previous price. Still playing around with the picture settings. The default ones are awful. Those who buy it, do you mind sharing to compare?

WE have had a 46" sharp lcd for 6 years and it hasn't missed a beat...I know the plural of anecdote is not data

Is this TV any good?

I got the 42" version of this TV and I am surprised the picture is pretty good just the sound is very tinny so you really need a sound bar for movies.

Great price for the size - so expecting top quality is probably a bit optimistic.

So employers give extra discount via their employee benefits scheme. I could get an extra 10 percent off via my employer for example

very good first comment, they do not have any software developers and dont understand super fast menu systems

I have had a sharp tv for 7 years never missed a beat and good picture. Has to be hot.

Sharp has exited the domestic TV market with the Licensing of its brand to Vestel, pot luck with whats under the hood

Jeez I heard it was the same with the Toshiba brand. Name only and rubbish under the lid. Sharp now made by the owners of Digihome. Stick to Samsung and Panasonic while they are still the real deal.

yeah the older versions are ok as i bought one 6 years ago for my sisters 15th birthday and it is still going but the one i bought 18 months ago has been replaced by sharp twice but still the tv is broke again and sharp want 350£to fix it now.i think the older tvs were actually made by sharp but these new ones are definitely not as i think they are made in turkey or something like that.

Would much rather pay a little extra and go for a better brand, do yourselves a favour and save another month. Sharp may have been good a few years back but wouldn't touch with a barge pole now!

I have the 42 inch version and it is excellent - it is not a Vestel re badge - it shares the same on screen menus and epg as my Panasonic so probably built in the same European factory sharing the same parts.

bought this tv at 329 and i must say apart from the sound the picture is excellent, but would like details on how to improve this from say av forums. Snobs for sony or panasonic can have their tuppence but for 329 with a five year warranty its excellent.

Could anyone give some advice on this please? Never looked at a LED tv before as mine is plasma. It appears to have motion blur where any moving subject blurs slightly. Is this normal for a LED as the picture is sharp at all times with my plasma. Was told they need to 'bed' in for a week but think I've been given duff info. Any comments would be gratefully appreciated.

I got mine from richer sounds yesterday for the same price but with their 5 year. I was playing with the settings last night and ended up with almost the same as you describe above except I ended witht he sharpness set to 0 which seemed to give a much better picture with my youview box.

anyone got a good screen setting for this tv yet so i dont have to mess around with it for too long

£399 now

did anyone get the picture settings right and maybe want to share with the rest of us. football looks gross at best on mine

These are the settings I am happy with after messing around a lot. Please note that the angle at which you watch this TV makes a big difference. It looks fine when sitting down with the TV at eye level but If I am standing up walking around it looks bad.(like washed out colours). So make sure you make the adjustments on the position you are going to watch it:

Backlight 82 (go first to advanced video and set adaptive backlight to off, or you won't be able to change this one)
Contrast 70
Brightness 52
Saturation 55
Sharpness 9
Tint 5
Color Temp Warm
16:9 overscan off

Advanced Video:
All OFF and Gamma Adj to Middle

If anyone finds a better one, please share.

This is a much better picture already. I will use my disney wow bluray this weekend to set the tv perfect but takes 4-6 hours then I will feedback the adjustments. Thanks again for Thai quick fix
