My dad paid 30quid for me to do that on a calculator way back when oO

Edited by:"jdandi" 2nd Mar 2016I take it you didn't get as far as your GCSE in English?

Although il still never know what any of the buttons do on the top half of this calculator!

BOOBLESS ....quite appropriate for our class at the time

Why, will it produce different results?

no but the teacher can show them how to use the functions etc

Are you sure? That appears to be a vintage model.

I hope not!

Worst case scenario - the battery on this calculator stops working in the exam. The school give a casio one (used in class) to your child and they are not very familiar with it. They lose marks as they don't know how to use it properly and potentially miss out on their target grade.

No wonder all the kids no a days leave school with all these exam passes, when I was at school you had to work it out on paper

I'm not hating on the deal though haha I've given some heat!

Holy Mary, you don't know a person who knows GCSE maths and beyond quite well can use any calculator (tool)?

Why do you feel compelled to use language which some will find offensive - there's simply no need.

Are you one of those who takes offence on behalf of every one on the planet? Jesus, let them speak for themselves, for God's sake. Motto, let others speak for themselves.

I don't take offence but I also try not to offend others, even if I don't share their beliefs, etc.

Carry on if you must - show the world what a boor you are.

How do you know they are offended? Did someone tell you just now? OK, no need to answer me, I guess you might be a person who may want to win every point and have the last say. I am out.

It's the same on this one, and most recent Sharp calculators.

I bought this as a replacement for an older Sharp EL-531VH calculator, it was the cheapest in Argos but not this cheap.

The buttons on this are sharper and more square so they're not as 'nice' to press but after a bit of getting used to it does the job. It has more functions on it than the older model, but way more than you'll need for A level maths.

rofl!

no but sometimes functions are hard to find easily and if you have the same calculator it's easier to follow how to do some more complex processes rather than getting out the 50 page manual to try and understand how to do something.

Stock available to reserve at my local Argos in Dereham.

Yep, that Casio has been on the 'things you need to buy' list over the last decade, when my kids started senior school.

Only someone sad enough to pick up on grammatical errors could think that was offensive.

Sad **** .
