Braun 3010s Series 3 Men's Electric Shaver - £34.99 @ Shavers
Posted 8th JunPosted 8th Jun
+ free delivery.

If you prefer with trimmer:

Excellent deal. Having wasted hundreds and hundreds on fancy shavers with extras that I never used, I now just buy a new cheap one every 12 to 18 months. I find that this is the best way - this one fits the bill perfectly!

Just bought the trimmer and combs for this on eBay for £10 but got the last one at that price. £16.88 on Amazon for beard trimmer and comb attachments.

Amazon sells this cheaper sometimes - under £30. It's £31.50 at Amazon at the moment. It works reasonably well. Poor battery life and no pop-up cutter or beard attachment but maybe not important to you, it wasn't to me. I was using a Phillips OneBlade but the cost of replacement heads was hard to justify so I gave this a try. Now I just use the OneBlade to trim and shape sideburns and catch the odd hair on my neck the Braun misses. I do find that it has a tendency to miss hairs on my neck but I have yet to find an electric shaver that works really well for everything. The Series 3 300s model is only only £23 on Amazon - a steal. A replacement head is £18.

Before you buy any electric shaver, check the price and availability of the foils and cutters.

Panasonic ES-LV65 - £99.99 @ Shavers

Panasonic ES-LV65 - £99.99 @ Shavers
This shaver has been reduced again today. Was £114.99, now £99.99. Just ordered one as missed the last time it was this price.

I had a Philips rotary where the blades lasted 15 years.

Quick update. Ordered the shaver with the free standard delivery on Saturday morning, arrived this morning, so stick to the free delivery. Had a shave with it, I’ve always used cartridge shavers from Gillette, which really irritate my skin. Thought this would compromise on closeness for comfort, but to my surprise, it shaves much closer than I could ever get with a cartridge shaver, can’t remember the last time my skin was this smooth!

It needs cleaning about every 9-10 days. Press button for a couple of seconds for cleaning mode, then I use a couple squirts of Dove handwash on the foil and run it under the warm tap. Remove foil head and do the same for the blades inside. Takes about 2 minutes and then just leave it dry before putting it back together. Apply a couple of drops of the oil it comes with across the foil and job done. Only had it three months, but so-far it is easily the best shaver I have ever owned.

Yes, same shaver, just no cleaning station, but they are easy to clean apparently.

Is the cleaning kit worth the extra? My current Phillips shaver is a right effort to clean

Coaching feature is kinda sounds gimmicky! Considering the pro 2000 and probably even the lower end models vibrate every 30 sec to indicate you should now be done with one quadrant of your mouth, what more assistance do you need to get it right. Having said that I've not seen/used the coach feature and maybe it does make brushing more effective.

You can buy the smart 5 on amazon for 79.80. 2 brushes but one charger.

They were 40.00 at Chrismas.

You could perhaps just swap the heads over if both need charging ? Although if both need charging and are flat then I doubt it matters if you had 100 chargers , they would still be flat until they are charged enough to use ;) We have 2 separate chargers and 2 brushes between the 4 of us (we each have our own toothbrush heads) but we keep 1 charger in the cupboard as a spare. Only find we ever need the one charger , we just alternate the charging between the 2.

Yeah, the Pro2 2000 does seem decent and I have noticed a few deals on that model too, but it doesn't have smart coaching and only has 2 cleaning modes. This is definitely a bargain! I have seen this exact model priced at £99 to £200 on other websites. It's more suited to those who want the more advanced model now (for a decent price) rather than getting the Pro2 2000 now and upgrading to the Smart 4 4000 and above two or three years down the line.

That was my previous model. Got the latest one now and I can confirm the Panasonic shavers are by far the best. My LV-93 lasted 11 years with the same battery. Closest shave there is with the arc 5 shaver heads. No clue why cold but steaming hot from me.

These are amazing, probably the best electric shavers out there. this is the top of the range model normally over £200,this price is a bargain. they shave almost as close as wet razor.

The LV65 was £89.99 and the LV95 for £129.99 as part of their long running offer price. It's been that price for quite a while as I was looking to buy one before They have now bumped up the LV65 to £99.99 whereas the LV95 is still at £129.99 Still good prices but not as cheap as it has been that's all (y)

...just checked your deals you posted. I didn't see that you shared that deal with the HDUK community, oh well maybe next time you could share, that would be greatly appreciated by us all I'm sure. However thank you for taking the time to comment anyway. (y)

Well the HDUK community thank you for posting it when it was £89.99...

This had been £89.99 for quite a while at and has only recently gone up to £99.99

I meant to add, a brilliant price and well spotted OP! Heat and thanks for taking the time to post.

Panasonic ES-LV95 shaver with cleaning station £129.99 Shavers

I’ve seen reviews and read articles, both Braun 7 series and Panasonic are top shavers. However the Braun series 790c is too pricey and no deals at the moment. Also replacing the coil is easier on Panasonic according to the reviews (y)

I hope they've significantly improved the design of the cleaning station in the last few years. I bought a Panasonic shaver with one in 2012 and it was absolutely useless (esp. as my previous Braun had been flawless. It stopped cleaning after a few days and required the fluid refill to be replaced. I chucked it in the end. On the plus side the shaver (a ES-LF71) is still going strong.

Good price, but personally I would miss out on the big box part and get just the shaver and regular (small) charging unit. (£99) Its a great shaver, whichever model you go for.

They are all poor tbh. Ok for the first few minutes and then you can hear the motor slowing down. There is always compromise between battery life and an energy sucking motor. Wired cutters and trimmers can put beefier motors in. Same with many shavers.

Never will use wireless again after using wired

I use a battery powered beard trimmer for cutting my hair when backpacking for lengthy periods. Hardgoing at times but does get the job done eventually. Anyone know of any other small battery powered trimmer that would work better?

95% Excellent/Great according to Trustpilot. You must have some very high standards. (shock)

This is a great shaver. Works really well wet with a thin layer of shaving foam or a pre-shave like freelette.

I can't stand rotary shavers - gives me a red rash for days. Had a Panasonic for 4 years and still not changed the foil! Probably should do but foils are pricey compared to the complete shaver. This one is tempting 😁

Not a fan of foils either. For me they have a tendency to cut, especially as they seem to wear out faster than rotaries. Still voted got based on price.

You show the 8 reviews that are 1 star but there are 156 reviews that are 5 star. Its an amazing razor and I have used many. It shaves as close as my DE with foam. Out of 208 reviews with only 8 one star reviews your not even sure they made an error and are reviewing the same product or work for a rival. Overwhelming review evidence says it's a great razor.

Here are some quotes from some of the critical reviews on amazon: "Used it on sensitive and normal mode - found it didnt really trim the hairs on my neck/chin very well - and took numerous 'passes' and it still failed to trim certain hairs. After my first use - I had a wet shave with a razor." "Awful thing! I bought this to replace my old Panasonic ES8163 as replacements were getting expensive , you could cut a hedge with that thing! My facial hair is like wire and grows in all directions and with this razor I find myself trying to push individual hairs into the foil to cut as it doesn’t pick them up. I now see replacements for it are more expensive than my old razor, which fortunately I kept, so I’m going back to that!" "Unfortunately I find I have to go over my hair many times to get it close enough, and I did not have to with my 4 blade panasonic." "It took quite a time to get a close shave and and was certainly no better than an ancient Remmington I need to replace." "Despite using Bump Patrol afterwards, I developed bumps, razor burn and am left with what looks like dark scars! I am now trying to restore my face… I definitely won’t be using this shaver again! It did give a close shave, but if you are black, or if you have sensitive skin, I would strongly advise you to avoid this shaver!" "After reading so many positive reviews, I had high hopes when I switched from wet shaving to using this shaver. And my first impressions were very positive: it's light, powerful and with five blades it seemed to cover a lot of ground very quickly. However, I soon noticed several patches that I need to return to repeatedly, and there always seems to be a few niggling hairs on my neck that it won't get whatever I do. Unsurprisingly, this kind of intensive usage frequently results in inflamed skin unless I'm very, very careful." "I have very few issues with the shaver itself, which is at least as good as most rechargeable shavers I’ve used. The big problem is the big and bulky recharging and cleaning unit. Not only is it noisy, but if one inspects the interior of the unit (where the shaver head) sits, you’ll a find really unpleasant accumulation of gunk which is potentially dangerous from an infection point of view. So, I’ve chucked the unit in the bin and I’ll just clean the shaver manually." "For anyone else using this device, make sure you check your face closely before leaving for work or you will be buying a bic in the petrol station or shop at lunch time! Best to take the thing to work with you. It does give a close dry shave but I can't help but think it's poorly designed for 3 reasons. 1). For shaving under your nose and 2). Having to constantly go over areas at different angles. 3). Under the head filter there are two cutter things for a 4 head cover, I can't help but think, shouldn't there be 4?" "My issues with this shaver are: 1- It takes longer than actually the full cycle of razer shave, in order to get the perfect smooth shave. 2- For about 5 minutes use, the surface gets hot, enough to make you uncomfortable. If you aren't using it wet. 3- Cleaning prices take very long and fairly loud and if it's in your ensuite, it might annoy you. It definitely does to me. 4- It's very loud, or perhaps I wasn't expecting that much noise, perhaps it's just me, but seems like you aren't shaving your beard but mowing it!" "The way it says five blade shaving system but it does not even cut your small hair properly i have been using philips shaver before that and is much better than panasonic." "Never before have I been so let down by a product. Leaves patches uncut that amounts to about half of my entire facial hair/stubble. Doesn't matter how much I go over the patches." "Wow what a poor razor... I did a lot of research and finally settled on buying this one... what a disappointment!! I've tried it both wet and dry, and it just doesn't do the job. It misses patches, and just wouldn't do under my chin or on my neck at all... I went over and over the places it refused to do with no joy at all." "I tried shaving wet and dry and the shaver wouldn't remove loose hairs. It appeared to do very little and the closest I got to a clean shave was a three day stubble effect, which is hardly satisfactory considering the cost. It seems to be of no practical use whatsoever as a shaver, it only shortens rather than removes stubble." On the other hand, there are a lot more positive reviews, but the problem in this day and age is knowing how many of those have been "paid" for. For that reason I tend to look at negative reviews first and make an initial decision from there.

Well I've been a Philishave user all my life and found them excellent. I found this Panasonic on an offer here earlier this year and bought it for a change. Honestly, its big, but not heavy, beautifully made and a pleasure to use. Its very very good and i would struggle to see how others could improve on it. I bought the one with the cleaner as above and thought that would be a waste of time, but again, the cleaner is really good and charges at the same time. So there's my view, its cheaper than i paid, its a great shaver and i would buy it again in an instant. Well done OP. No shaver is worth £300 but this is worth its current price and more.

Definitely the best electric shaver I've used

How are shavers for customer service? Are they reliable? Very tempted to go with this.

Yes its still a fair bit cheaper, some people obviously have different opinions on how much is a saving, plus when it costs roughly £30 for new blades/trimmers for old shavers, this works out at good value.

I've had three sonicare brushes in a row that died before a year was up. Philips always replaced then without a problem but they are rubbish. I am using another brand next time...

Tesco Outlet have the same brush for £49. If you add an eligible item, cheapest is £5, you get 10% off, making it £48.60.

There was an older head variety PowerUp (Sonicare's battery range) that got rave reviews and was apparently as powerful (31,000 strokes) as the rechargeables at the time. Sonicare's current PowerUp range gets pretty bad reviews if I remember right. Powered by 2 x AAs. It was the Xtreme Power E3000 (problems with leaking, though, think using Vaseline as a "seal" may help). One review from 2016 says: "Discontinued in favor of far inferior successor Philips has yet to replace these with a suitable and comparable performing BATTERY POWERED edition from any line of the Sonicare models before or since. I much prefer these to even the flagship more expensive models that carry inherently less reliable power designs as they all use the same lithium ion technology that by nature degrades over time and extended use." More reviews: (they also recommend removing the batteries after use, as they seem to constantly drain) This comment, re Sonicare rechargeable models and the type of batteries used, is interesting (no idea if it's true): The HX3351/HX3881 were maybe later models (?) So it can be done. Have Philips underpowered the newer battery models on purpose (?) to make us buy more? Probably. As the Xtreme/Simply Clean battery models are discontinued, they go for crazy prices on ebay.

I have missed that :( any similar deal for ultrasonic toothbrush?
