Received an email from Shaw Academy offering lifetime membership for £49 - I think this is unbelievable value for someone that likes to learn a variety of topics in a structured format. This could be account specific and maybe worth checking your email. Had a quick look on the site, I couldn't the find offer advertised.

Not particularly good reviews on TrustPilot if you ignore the fake, stellar ones. For example:

"AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID It is very important that you read all the 1 star reviews on every review- and or social media site, be it Trustpilot, Facebook, Twitter, Glassdoor etc, as these are the true ones. I stupidly signed up for life membership about 4 years ago and the course content is still exactly the same today. There are always new tutors (the staff turnover at this place is, not surprisingly, very high), but exactly the same notes, with exactly the same spelling and grammatical errors. Lessons are NOT always live. Not a single new course has been added since I joined, despite promises to the contrary. Their diplomas are worth nothing. Their customer service is non existent. Their 4* and 5* reviews are fake, as admitted by employees. There is ZERO reason why you should give this awful company your money. I beg of you, don't make the same mistake I did."

They also claim their courses are accredited with Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework. However, this organisation is NOT an accreditation body.

What value is a diploma from Timbuktu?

In Scotland I am lucky enough to study with the open university for free. …In Scotland I am lucky enough to study with the open university for free. A personal net income (not family income) of under £25,000 allows you to study up to 120 CAT points for free I have completed 120 points and almost finished another 60

That is lucky. In England the OU costs a small fortune for most modules. I'm moving to Scotland!

So I checked the SCQF database and the Shaw Academy courses have been accredited. Check for yourself. scqf.org.uk/the…se/

The SCQF is not an accreditation body. Here's a quote from their FAQ page (bold added by me):

No, the SCQF is not a regulatory framework and the SCQF Partnership is not an awarding body – it doesn’t provide or develop qualifications. Awarding and accrediting qualifications is still the job of organisations like the SQA, universities, colleges and statutory and professional bodies.
I know this is an old thread but any current online courses available to enable me to get an NUS card again? Thanks in advance
