They are always offering these and other courses for free. All genuine and some are live courses, others pre-recorded videos. Think you just pay for the certificate at the end if I remember correctly
Be very very careful with this organisation, which is definitely legitimate but will badger you with spam upon spam to try and extract cash from you. Even when you unsubscribe, the spam continues. It’s like signing up for a personal virus - and the courses aren’t that good either
dont call yourself a gent after voting cold (excited)
Anybody actually doing these courses to obtain a “qualification” for a real job is completely naive. Take it for what it is, a means to learn something.
Have enrolled on a free course just to see what its like / what is taught. Didnt realise was only 1 free course... could use multiple emails I guess. We shall see.
I know this is an old thread but any current online courses available to enable me to get an NUS card again? Thanks in advance
http://offers.shawacademy.com/lp/wb/gis?lead_id=5a621f3c693687bf058b47b2&&cc=gb&source=email Currently on offer again £19 lifetime membership
The SCQF is not an accreditation body. Here's a quote from their FAQ page (bold added by me): No, the SCQF is not a regulatory framework and the SCQF Partnership is not an awarding body – it doesn’t provide or develop qualifications. Awarding and accrediting qualifications is still the job of organisations like the SQA, universities, colleges and statutory and professional bodies.
So I checked the SCQF database and the Shaw Academy courses have been accredited. Check for yourself. http://scqf.org.uk/the-framework/search-database/
Nah. it's actually 29 Euro = £26. Still available at that price via earlier deal at https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/lifetime-membership-shaw-academy-eur29-26-unlimited-access-to-all-current-and-future-courses-and-share-membership-2869883
nice one (lol)
haha I thought this was how to make up your own diploma using Photoshop
Go to their facebook page or even search before you join, the courses are recorded and theres no customer service. Unless they want money. Better off on youtube.
What if u are already good with photoshop? Can i take a test and get a certification?
Hi, I just wanted to say that the above link is still working. I was sent an "offer" for £49 life time membership and remembered this thread. The sign up page is identical as in it talks about a monthly trial but it is a life time. & this is half the price I was sent today. So this is still a good live deal.
Assuming Lifetime Membership has been purchased: from desktop machine: login >> (upper right screen) add friend >> submit. mobile: login >> (scroll to bottom) add friend >> submit.
Does anyone know how to share membership as per the title?
Exactly the same problem I'm having unfortunately :(
When I try the second step, at the payment I get "Unknown Error". Tried Paypal and Card payment as well. Same result.
Huh! I wish I posted it now. I had two emails and pricing error one is obvious there was an error as there was no 'Was' price nor the new offer price on the website it linked to. The other email was correctly formatted with correct price, so thinking to knew about it and changed it.
Posted as €29 (£26) here: https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/lifetime-membership-shaw-academy-eur29-26-unlimited-access-to-all-current-and-future-courses-and-share-membership-2869883
Got this lifetime offer at £49 gradually it has been reduced over last 6 months since I dida free course Question is will it get cheaper as it cost less than 1 Months subscription for premium membership, which makes me suspicious?
I've got the same offer email but when I checkout the cost is 29 euro? Is this a missprice?
So it looks like Shaw isn't an option for NUS sign ups anymore then. Can anyone suggest a free/cheap ecareers course? I'm already signed up but I've got friends who'd like to become mature students (flirt)
After signing up for the free course I got an email today with a beginners style quiz. Ironically the final question is wrong on the quiz. Doesn't give a great deal of faith for the course! I've also had an email from them with an investment opportunity. I'm thinking of the 1 million euro investment tier. Just need to have a little dig down the side of the sofa. (shock) https://www.shawacademy.com/invest-with-us
I linked it to my existing account
Can you link that to an already amazon account or do you need to open a new one?
The link is definitely valid so it must be something to do with HUKD. At least you got there in the end:D
Sort of works. If I click the link it doesn't work but if I select the link, right click and use goto it works. This is in chrome browser
I've just found a new link and updated it which seems to work on all browsers. Try it now
Link doesn't work for me in IE or Chrome. Cant find any free courses only free trial
This is the direct link:Free courses However, noticed, chrome is showing it as a 404 page but internet explorer is just fine
But only when a DFS sale is on.
The courses don't show as free for me when clicking through. They are either £2 or £5. I've done a couple of the free ones before and not been impressed at all. They bombard you with emails with 'limited offers' :(
It's only limited until the start of the next limited offer.
Really... they always have about 8 free courses available at any one time. I've completed 3 so far.
Got an offer from these guys for £49 for lifetime membership it started at about £200 6months ago Does anyone know if this is premium membership that includes exams and certs? as not getting a clear info On what I get
Are you confusing needs with wants?
Stone River Academy lifetime $99 (about £72). No idea how it compares. No interest. https://stacksocial.com/sales/stone-river-academy-lifetime-membership
Depends on your needs, I regularly use 40% of Pizza Express, Amazon Student Prime and half price Spotify, would Unidays get any of that cheaper?
The better student discounts are via Unidays. You need an academic (.ac) address to sign up.
This will save £'s - and make me a more educated person!
Hey it's the email address you signed up with.
I may be being thick but the nus site is asking for a student number and I can't find one anywhere on the Shaw site or email... Any ideas gratefully received!
Did this last year and it works. I also did the Photoshop course which was good. Hopefully sign up again this year. Only problem is spending my Amazon £50 no rush delivery before they expire at the end of this month!!
i just followed the above steps and am holding the NUS extra card in my hand today.
they charge 5 euros
Great thank you for the reply, shall see how it goes but worth it for £2 i guess :)
by doing that mine works and you have to pay extra £1.50 for home delivery... ;)
Not directly no. In my experience, you need to pay to complete the final assessment. On passing you get a pdf certificate (which btw is of poor quality).
Thanks for the reply :) do we have to pay for the certificate?
If you enrol on one course, this one course is free; and if you come to 6 live lectures (webinars) on that course, in the 6th or 7th live lecture there is a prize draw of a free lifetime membership for 1 person. All other attendees who had attended all previous live lectures get 1 month of free trial membership (with access to all courses) and then £29/month. You can share your account with up to 3 friends or family members. Yes, they charge for certificates. You can cancel anytime. (If you don't want to attend webinars in person simply click on the webinar link you get via email just before the webinar starts and let your computer play it while you are doing something else. You can watch the lecture later after it is uploaded 24 hours after the webinar.)
Enrolled on a course free so why not!
Seen an ad for the Photo one free on Facebook
expired? Not seeing any for free. Just noticed the bit about it being time limited in the OP, hadn't noticed before. Shame I'd have liked to try one see what they are like but harder to justify when you have to pay....
One course worth £395 ??? Current lifetime membership (deal was expiring, but now extended) is £125 http://www.shawacademy.com/learning/?product=shawlifetime-technology-ext I've done one free / pay for certificate course, and at that time the lifetime deal was £295
