(EDIT: I've found it 49p cheaper on eBay, seem comment #2)

Was looking at the juicers and admiring the Heston Blumenthal one, then saw this below it. Seems as if it gets good reviews, and not a bad price for a whole fruit juicer?

Very good
Paid £50 for what looks like the same blender with a different logo

Wife corrected me - was about £37. Does the job well

Does anyone not find closing it a real pain? I tried using this same until in clas ohwen or whatever the store is called and found lining up the top a bit of a pain.

Made this hot for you as wanted to hear more user reviews here about the lid and cleaning. Thanks

Check for space at back of kitchen cupboard before purchase.

Got a similar one but from andrew james and for same price.. Does the job well and the cleaning is easy with the brush provided

Agreed. Once people realise how much it costs to make a large glass of juice and all the effort of cleaning the thing everyday, thats where it'll end up.

I bought the Philips 1871 juicer. very good and have used everyday since last October. It is a life changer, not for the back of the cupboard. I don't need another juicer, but would love to try this one to see the difference -mine cost £160!!

Go to the local markets pick up bargains, get twice as much as you would in the supermarket.....its not that expensive.

If it's centrifugal I wouldn't buy it. Here is a sample buying guide rebootwithjoe.com/jui…/3/

I spent the same as you on my juicer but have tried cheaper ones - and this is one occasion where you definitely get what you pay for!

I prefer these to the slow ones, they heat the juice up a bit and destroy all the stuff that makes my stomach turn.

Cleaning a juicer is always a pain, puts you off using it after a while! I think the more you pay, the easier it is to clean... weird but possibly true?? discuss ;-)

Sorry you mean you prefer the slow ones, as these create heat and destroy the nutrients.

I purchased this (Andrew James branded but the same item) on eBay for £40 a couple of weeks back

If I am honest, Im not thoroughly impressed. It is a mess to clean and I underestimated the amount of fruit needed for just a glass of juice. Its quite noisy too but thats expected really I suppose.

Seems to not give a thoroughly clean juice either. Still has a level of thickness associated which I hadn't expected. Almost smoothie consistency sometimes.

another useless single-Purpose appliance. you don't need this.

I have this and it works really well, although yes it is a b**** to clean.

If you want any more info on it just reply to my comment and I'll get back to you.

PS, cheaper than I paid so HOT!!

Not bad for the price but cheap for a reason. As mentioned previous a slow masticating juicers are better if you want to get the most out of your juice...As they get more juice out there maybe an argument that you save money in the long run...

Masticating juicers are all good and well but they have their time and place, when trying to make something reasonably quick and easy, such as for taking to work with you in the morning, they aint all that!. Also please dont just limit yourselves to fruits!

Check out juicemaster.com/ for some tips and pointers as well as some weight loss plans that have been tried and tested.

BTW - any kind of brush is a god send in cleaning these - not that hard to rinse everything under a running tap and then brush the tool bit itself. (assuming its like the Philips one)

I've been juicing for 6 months and the health benefits are unreal! You defo get what you pay for with juicers personally

What are your favourite recipes?

Just to put this out there...

For those going for a juicer for health benefits. Bear in mind you're taking fruit in its raw form, removing all the fibre and turning it into a concentrated form which is very high in sugar. End result being that if you make use of your juicer quite often, and are susceptible to putting on weight then having a juicer might not be as "healthy" as you think.
