As much as I support ideas like this to encourage cycling in the city, the number of students with no helmet, no hi vis, trying to tackle the busy city centre roads is pretty frightening. This scheme should perhaps highlight the need for such items - especially in Sheffield which dispite its outdoor pursuits reputation, is not particularly cycle friendly in the city centre.

Sheffield city centre is positively dangerous for cyclists in my opinion. Having a cycle lane running contrary to a one-way main road is crazy imo.

True, also these cyclists should know how to use the roads. Many think it’s ok to over take a parked car without even looking over their shoulders and wait if cars coming. Btw I’m a cyclist too so no dig at anyone.

Heat added though

So 15 minutes in each direction, doesn't give you a lot of time does it!

Was a student here (many years ago) rather hilly! I also agree with other comments re safety, not the most cycle friendly city centre. I also believe cyclists should be taking more responsibility for their own safety...... some are ‘guerilla cyclists’ who have no consideration for other road users, often don’t have lights, but all have helmet cams....rant over

30mins. You cycle to your destination, park the bike and your rental is complete. Do the same on the return journey.

Haha its much the same still (the hills are still here!). But we now have the joy of deliveroo riders who are on a completely different level of ignorance!

Is it wrong of me to wish they get caught up in the tram tracks?

Seriously? A cyclist has the right of way in that situation.
