Shell basic car wash 99p during January

47
Found 2nd Jan 2013
Just filled up my car in Portsmouth and noticed a sign stating car wash from 99p (basic wash).

I don't believe that there is a minimum purchase required as I paid for my fuel at the pump and the car wash separately inside.

The sales advisor said that this offer is on until the end of January and he believes it to be available nationwide.

To find your nearest Shell garage with car wash, please visit the Shell website and select car wash under Services & Amenities:

Cheers OP. I'm a lazy git, and can't be bothered to wash it myself. Probably cost me more to do that anyway!

any coupons required?

No coupon required. It is being advertised at the pumps. Normally £2.99 but on offer this month.

Just how much will be the paint job for the damage to your paintwork?

Is this the Shell garage on the Eastern Road?

Surprised Sports Direct are not doing these, you drive off with a clean car but a big sports direct.com logo on your car!

I'll scratch your car for free if you want

Provided you don't leave the bike unattended while it is going through the car wash and you tuck in your mirrors.

I noticed them on the machine, but did not pay attention if they were included in this level of wash. My wheels did look clean after

I used the one on Goldsmith Avenue, but according to the Shell website there is a car wash at Farlington and the attendant did say he believed it to be nationwide.

The one I used was a machine. I am assuming you are referring to the garages with Jet Wash instead of the machine that moves around your car automatically.

is this suitable for BMW?

Nope they are too big to fit inside You need copious amounts of lubricant hahah

I gather the detailing folk amongst us would never use a petrol station car wash to wash their cars

Happy days 8-)

It will be ok if its smaller than my Bentley.

for normal family car covered in crap due to weather.. this is great value.

For car freaks... no its no as swirl marks will occur.

So is this for the drive thru car wash, or the jet wash?

Never tried these, but can't vouch for the Jet wash, used it once and at full pressure it was too weak to move simple dirt

No Shell station within 10 miles of me.

You shouldn't really use a car wash or high pressure water to wash cars because it ruins the paintwork and the rustproofing. It takes like 15 mins to give you car a quick wash at home with a sponge and its mush better.

use a bucket and save water well have a hosepipe ban soon enough

Nonsense, they have not changed their price!

Not available in my local Shell and they were insistent that it was a 'special offer' from when they opened! (this garage used to be a Total and then they had a makeover...)
