Shell petrol £1.26 diesel £1.29 M40 High Wycombe

Found 4th Oct 2014
Pulled off the M40 at High Wycombe this morning for fuel. Was surprised by the price £128.9 for diesel. Obviously not for everyone, but if you fine yourself on the M40 near Junction 4. For motorway fuel, 20 miles shy of London, 5 miles from the M25, this is cheap.

I wouldn't put Sainsbury's/Tesco fuel in my car, unless I had no other choice.

Always worth using PetrolPrices.com

Enter your postcode and it gives you the cheapest prices within 2 miles (or 5, 10, 15 or 20).

I see this morning my local Tescos has dropped to 123.9 for unleaded

Shell diesel is better and I've tested it. Never again will I use supermarkets. I travel to Birmingham regularly. supermarket fuel would use at least half a tank there and back. One day I just used Shell. It used 1/4 of the bank. I was amazed. Since then I've always used Shell.

Is this at Shell Beaconsfield? Or not a real motorway services just a petrol station near the motorway?

It's a petrol station 800 yards from the junction. High Wycombe M40 Junction 4 corner of Desborough av and Marlow rd It's right opposite the Tesco express petrol station. Both stations sell at the same price, they are 80 ft apart. It's down to personal preference, as with everything in life. You could fill up with Tesco at the same price, I wonder how many would given the choice?

Helpful if you happen to be in Greenhithe, and want Asda fuel.

Do you seriously believe that you get double the mileage using Shell fuel rather than supermarket fuel?

Just ordered The OnePlus One 64 GB £274 delivered And I always drink Peroni Nastro Azzurro over Fosters, if given the choice

I also take back my heat in the revelation that this is not a true motorway station

This is pretty much exactly spot on. There is no such thing as 'supermarket fuel'. There are some exceptions, but all petrol/diesel comes from the nearest distribution point and nearest refinery. List of refineries. You will see that there isn't even a Shell refinery in the UK! All the petrol or diesel shipped out of these refineries is identical and it all conforms to the relevant British Standards.

The only difference between Texaco/Shell/BP/ASDA is the additives package that is combined with the fuel. There are no magical additives that make your cars engine more powerful or more efficient. If there was, everyone would put it in their fuel or you would add it yourself.

I live in Central Scotland, all our fuel comes from Grangemouth. So whether it is Asda, Tesco, Shell or any other petrol station it all comes from the same place. So what if Shell and some other put some extra **** in their fuel, it is basically all the same. These petrol posts are becoming increasingly more boring, due to the same old **** being spouted by idiots with too much money who always think dearer means better.

So not a real motorway, this is like saying go to the next junction and ASDA has it for 124.9 or there is a shell at the following junction...

The Tesco express is also, surely Esso?
