Shepherds Friendly Stocks and Shares ISA Cashback TCB or Quidco

Found 7th Aug 2017
The deal is back. Worth the effort for those that did it last year. Available both through TCB and Quidco but TCB has better rates now. Yes, there are handling and annual membership fees. Yes, the payout period is long at 120 days (So roughly 4 monthly contributions). But it's essentially free money when you decide to withdraw.

• Save tax-efficiently from as little as £30 a month up and to £15,240 a year
• It can run alongside your Cash ISA or Help to Buy ISA

The cashback rates are as follows: (TCB)
• Monthly premium of £30-£99.99: £100 cashback.
• Monthly premium of £100-£499.99: £160 cashback.
• Monthly premium of £500-£899.99: £220 cashback.
• Monthly premium of £900+: £250 cashback.
• Lump Sum £5000+: £150 cashback.

The cashback rates are as follows: (Quidco)
• Monthly premium of £30-£99.99: £80 cashback.
• Monthly premium of £100-£499.99: £120 cashback.
• Monthly premium of £500-£899.99: £160 cashback.
• Monthly premium of £900+: £200 cashback.
• Lump Sum £5000+: £120 cashback.

As with any investment, capital is at risk, but even with a complete meltdown in the markets you'd still be ahead if cashback pays.

Funnily enough I sent cancellation and payment request email to shepherds today, as I was paid out last month via quidco! Do you know if I'm eligible to apply again via tcb to claim another £100 or have I got to wait for next year's isa period to start over?

Did you open the previous ISA before the 5th of April 2017? If yes, then you should be eligible to get another one this tax year.

Sure I did this a year ago with Shepherds Friendly. Do you reckon they would payout cashback again?
Thanks OP, looks like easy money for nowt. How much are the handling and annual membership fees and how long does it take to withdraw your money?
From the 'what to do when' clause on that page: 'Cashback is only available to customers opening their first Shepherds Stocks and Shares ISA. Cashback may be rejected in the event that a customer has previously opened a Shepherds Friendly ISA.'
So, if they can tell you've had one before it shouldn't pay out (?)
Are you setting up for the minimum (£30/ month)? Then closing the account as soon as you can withdraw cash back?

You should be able to set it up in partner's name as a workaround

They can tell because you need you NI number.
Gone for this with the £100 per month option. Hopefully get my £160 cashback within 4 months!
Thanks OP!
Cashback rates have now been reduced!
Still £90 TCB for the minimum premium
I wanted to try but it's always say 'your capital at risk' so that puts me off. Is it safe?
Has anyone got less than what they put in?
I never done this before but doesn't know how to get more information.
Please help
Thanks

This is reasonably safe. Market movements are hard to predict but with low investments to just dip your toes in the water the downside(as is the upside is very small). This deal is good because of the cashback. With £30 a month you get almost 100% return after 4 months. If you are looking for long-term growth, you should invest more but also look at different stock ISA providers as their strategies can be different (some are slow and steady, others focus on short-term growth and take more risks). There is plenty of information online on this, have a read.

After setting up the account and direct debit...How long did it take them to take the money from your bank account? Anyone know? Created an account on the 8th and they still haven't taken the money from my bank?

You should have gotten an email with the schedule. The first direct debit is 1 month from the set-up date. For me it says 9th of September.

Did anyone manage to get cashback? On my quidco it said that I would get paid by the 26th and now it's just changed to "Your cashback is still being processed the retailer and shouldn’t be too much longer now."

I’m also still waiting! According to a few others...it changed to payable exactly a month after it changed to confirmed (if that makes sense)

Does that mean we'll have to wait another month??

Around that. Mine changed to ‘confirmed’ about 10 days ago. So a month from then it should be payable (fingers crossed)
Changed to "Payable" on Topcashback. Happy days.
MARFW3rd Jan

Not changed on mine yet :L
For those that have been paid and want to take out the money, I would wait till Feb, as it says they add the annual bonus by the end of January.
