These have been available for a while at other outlets, and this is RRP. How is this a deal?

Still, good tablet for the money - most likely the best value for money.

Sounds good to me, I am in

what outlet has them just now at £149.99?

possibly none but their 'shipping partners' all keep stock at the same time - just a waiting game then buy from preferred place

Got mine from Dabs about 2 weeks ago can't fault it.

does it have marshmallow yet?

Yes it updates to marshmallow battery life very good.

Best tablet I have ever owned .

Done a quick search and cant find them?

I'll have one thank you

It seems like a very good deal.
Can anyone suggest a similar / better specs tablet for less than £200?

Does this tablet have always listening like the Nexus 9? (The ability to respond to, "Ok Google," even when the screen is off and NOT charging.)

Maybe a Nexus 9 but there normally over £200.

Not a deal this the RRP, still a good tablet though for the price

Still disappointed they swiped the stylus, but can't complain otherwise.

Does this tablet keep refreshing chrome tabs like the Nexus 9?

Can anyone recommend an android tab that has both hdmi out and micro sd card slot other than this one. Thanks

I bought one from Amazon last week (when they were in stock). A lovely tablet for the money. I upgraded to 6.0 and then the 1.1 update. First rundown i had the high miscellaneous battery drain of 20% that is reported on the Nvidia forums. Cleared the cache from recovery. On day 3 now and the miscellaneous drain is gone. I am seeing on screen times of about 4 hours at full brightness. I turn WiFi off when not in use.

I was going to return it as you read some right horror stories about it but i am going to keep it. It flies along and it is near stock android so hopefully will get updates for a year more (fingers crossed)

The only glaring omission is AC wireless and the hard to press power button

Scan.co.uk delivery date is may 16th. Is there anywhere I can get it faster than that?

Voted hot because of the product more than the offer posted. This is a fantastic tablet. I have owned one of these since day one, and now own two of them within my household. Most bang-for-buck and the new batch have acknowledged and rectified all the original quality control issues. And if like me you have a monster gaming rig, then the gamestream feature works flawlessly, even on a 2.4ghz network.

Can you install STEAM on these? and download games like you would on a PC

No, these run on Android, I'm afraid. They are designed to stream games from your Nvidia gaming PC, or Nvidia's own service, instead.

Looks like RRP to me shield.nvidia.co.uk/sto…/k1 OP why is this a deal?

Had the original Shield tablet, it was ok but I was disappointed by the battery life, sold it and went for a Nexus 7 2013 which is running the latest Android updates.

anyone know if I could use my steam controller with this?

Only 2gb ram. For an advanced bit of gaming tech. Thats not big. The newer android OS is eating most of this in heavy use.
Particularly for gaming, I suspect in the next 6-12 months we are going to need at least 3gb or more.

I've been after one for a while for half life two goodness, I bought the Hp slate 7 running Windows 10 and it runs steam, it was only £50 and can plug an Xbox one controller in it. I really wish nvidia would open it up to Windows and I'd buy it in a flash. Not enough PC conversion games on shield for me to buy yet...

I held off buying a year ago as they were upgrading it, but it was cosmetic rather than power when it was released. It's a good price but I'll wait a little longer and see if there's a k2 around the corner

But this tablet is all about streaming from your PC?

How would this compare to something like a Samsung Tab S 8?

Sounds like a shortage of available RAM, Android will always 'hibernate' background tabs if it has run out of RAM, whatever tablet/phone you have.

Do you have loads of apps/services running in the background?

Impossible due to CPU architecture, for it be opened up to windows.

Cold because this isn't a deal.

Why on earth are people voting hot on the RRP of a tablet that's been out for 4 months?
