Great price.

Expect some numpties to vote cold because they can buy half of a terrible tesco bike for the price.

LX shifters don't last long for me because of the plastic internals, XT do last better. Better for left hand (font mech), or if you don't change gear as obsessively (often) as I do.. tempting to buy as a spare because both for this price is cheap.

edit: probably on sale because LX is discontinued? and replaced by SLX, not that that matters they'll work on any 9 speed system.

It's all about getting a good deal on the normal selling price not saying that a higher spec, higher cost item is better.

I tend to agree to some extent. i ran 9 speed LX for about 15,000 miles on the road (3 yrs) and they eventually didn't work in the very cold (maybe for the reasons you gave above). Have run XT for about the same time and have no problems but hey XT are much more expensive.

LX is a good quality shifter for most users out there would definitely recommend it.

15k miles is great. i got less than 1000 (off road and much shifting). ymmv as they say

eldudereno, yes it's a hot deal, just saying there's two reasons for them to be cheap.

Down to £23 a pair now - a bargain considering the hike in Shimano prices lately.
