games like this should be £1 max these days

Am I mistaken or is it just a port or a really old shinobi ?

I don't know the specifics of this release, but the Sega Ages range on the Switch are genuine well put together with all sorts of bonus features and modes. Sonic for example included the arcade alternative version, and allowed you to add an ability introduced in Sonic Mania, amongst other things.

A lot of effort goes into these ports. And that's appreciated by fans.

If your into that stuff then it's probably for you. Even the SNES and nes free games I just play on them for 10 seconds then never go back in them these days tho!

Oh for sure. If you don't like retro, you'd probably not get your monies worth.

Tbh I'm the same with the free nintendo stuff.
Never played. Think it will appear on the Switch Online free games at some point?

No, this is the Ages version which is like the rolls royce of versions. It's actually worth it.

Nope, it’s not a NES or SNES game.

Hmm only way it could be that price is if they give you 40 odd games for £40 because you still have a team to pay to put it all together even if it is a direct rom port which these arnt as they have lots of bonus features and extras. Im guessing to seperate these out into individual games they need to raise the price as you prob wont then be buying many more. If it make you feel better when the game first came out on it cost £40 on the Master System. Still got the sticker on its box!
Well worth £4. Heat.
Jesus! How much?? Why is this getting so much heat? This should be a £1 tops
This is a great game but be warned it's from an era when kids had nothing else to do but practice insanely hard button combos.
I need this on ps4

What? Super Punch Out has got me frustrated all over again nearly 30 years on!

Played this at bury arcade the other week. Forgotten how hard it was
slacey107003/04/2020 19:59

Why?

Because you can get the Megadrive Collection on all systems with 50 games on it for £20. Okay, the original Shinobi isn’t one of them but Shinobi 3 is & it’s just as good. One game from that era is not worth £4 by comparison. Following this logic, that collection should be £200!
I don’t think £4 is that bad at all. I paid about this for OutRun back at Christmas. It reminds me of playing it in the Arcade when I was younger-and yeah, it is so basic but is ruddy hard-and it’s a decent port, and so easy just to pick up and play for 20 mins now and again. It was actually the most played game on my Switch monthly summary last month!

So yeah, £4 is quite good in my opinion.
Wonder if the money you pay, still goes to the original developers of the game?

But you're not really comparing the same thing. You're comparing against a compilation of console games. This is the arcade version, with extras?

Plus the M2 conversations are simple rom dumps. A lot of work and attention goes into them.

It still might not be for you though, just you get a good little package here for less than the price of a pint.

Wow. No wonder you think £4 is good value. A pint where I’m from is £2.50

Mate, went for a pint with a colleague by Liverpool street station... not much change from £15 for 2 pints.

So get your wallet out and buy shinobi
