Shoei xr1100 £239.99 Helmet City

Looking for a new lid to replace my old Shoei, and found this at an amazing price. other colors available too. Seems a bargain, unable to find cheaper elsewhere. Shop has great reviews too on trustpilot. I know there are cheaper lids out there, but having owned cheaper, they are heavy, noisy and steam up. There are new models in their range but these are so much more expensive.

£240 is an amazing price? I bet this steams up too

Great lid, pinlock visor so no steaming. Very comfortable and relatively quiet.
5* SHARP rating too.

For a shoei...yes. Great price, even if it does come from Helmet City

Great price

Great if you're an xs and like black.

Black's great, goes with everything. XS is a problem though.

It depends on which way you like to take it.

Bit too cheap? The Shoei internal foam does not deteriorate unlike cheaper helmets.

Before someone pipes up and say you can buy an Aldi special for £40, i've got a Raid 2 Max helmet, bought it the day I passed my test 8 years ago for £350~ and it's lasted me all this time, immaculate condition, foams are great and i've even crashed in it and skidded on the side of it with minimal damage.

Well worth investing money on something that's going to protect your brain from the inevitable crash (everyone has to have at least one minor spill!)

You should certainly replace a helmet if you'd had it for that long, and use as a back up perhaps. If it's suffered an impact obviously the bin is best.

Amazing price. I thought £270 was pretty good when I got mine a couple of years ago.

I know where your coming from and was with you right up until you said you'd had a crash in it, even if it still feels snug etc as some of the foam will have lost it's compression so as said either bin it or use it as a spare.

I similarly have my first lid still from when i passed my test and it's going strong but it's a backup one now really.

Whats wrong with Helmet City? Iv just ordered from them!

^^ lokewise. what's wrong with helmetcity?

Helmet city are great to do business with. I've bough a couple of lids from them, and their prices are good, as is their service. I saved £200 on my Schubert C3

I ordered a Shoei on Monday evening and its just been delivered via DPD, so the delivery is good.

I have just replaced an XR1100 after being knocked of and landing on my face- Whole helmet is twisted but it done its job!

Used as an excuse to upgrade to new NXR which I got from France for a steal!

I still have a Silver spectra visor & pinlock for the 1100 if anyone in Edinburgh area gets one

The NXR replaced the XR1100 in the Shoei range (don't forget the XR1100 has been discontinued for a couple of years so these will be old stock)

I ordered my NXR from here for only a little bit more cash;

It was impact on the lowest bit near the chin, more like a massive scrape rather than hitting it on the side. I know what you mean though if I had hit it properly, it would damage the structure inside.

They're for the ladies methinks.

I'd wear pink for that price lol, I'm colour blind anyway.

I have the Neotec, matt black because I didn't have to worry about what it matches with...

I bought my second Schuberth from them a while back, it had a faulty breath-guard that would just pop out the second you made any contact with it. (Not ideal when on the road!) As i had only just purchased the lid, i contacted them about fault. Let's just say their returns policy is guilty until proven innocent when it comes to faulty gear. Felt like i was being judged when I called them about it - be warned. On the other hand, purchase of my first lid was a pretty smooth affair, and best price. Luck of the draw IMO.

great brand! once saved my life...

Aren't bringing out a new type of colour changing visor though?

Thanks op, I've got my cbt next monday and I'm starting to look for gear for after.

I never knew there were this many bikers on here.

Visor's are easily swappable between shoei helmets, so if they are, probably wont be a problem unless they go for a new fitting mechanism, which I don't believe they have in the 10+ years I've had mine.

I thought helmet city was what they called Edinburgh?

PLENTY ON EBAY FOR LESS

i was thinking to buy a cheap bike for 400 or 500.... But this helmet. ... hmmm
