Starting on March 1, LEGO will be launching a new gift-with-purchase promotion for the LEGO Iconic Steam Engine (40370) which pays homage same set from 1980. This set contains 187 pieces and you can get it for free with purchases of $99/€99/£99 on LEGO Shop@Home from March 1-15. This is the 40th anniversary of the original 7810 version with some updates to how it is built. The contents of the box include three unnumbered bags, two gray 6×10 plates, two red 2×16 plates, the instructions, and a small sticker sheet.

Oh wow! Nice one OP
Lego has offered a double VIP point promotion at the end of March for a few years now so hopping for that. Cool free gift though!
Would it work with the razor crest pre-order?
Might be an incentive to preorder a few Mandalorian and the Child brickheadz and some other sets I want.
Anyone else remember these when they first came out, black chassis, red wheels and could put tyres on them. I loved chewing the tyres.
Ah the nostalgia. Had been holding off buying the corner garage but my arm may have been twisted!
Was waiting for this... was kinda hoping it would be less than £100 minimum spend though!
Thanks for this. Might bite and get the Batmobile now. Anyone hazard a guess how much this set would be worth? The “free” gifts I often see going for silly money on eBay.

Agree
Why do we have to pay more to get this deal?

Uk - £99
yet US $99 ~ £76
and EU €99 ~ £82.70

Is there any way of getting this deal by paying in another currency other than visiting a shop in another country

These haven’t been released yet. I imagine they’re the original ones you’re seeing.
Hmm, debating whether to pull the trigger on Downtown Diner set and sell this to offset the cost.

Guess someone’s got it early then, and the fact that it’s early is the reason the price is high.
Just got my 76 yo mother to build the Queen Wateva set, her first ever. She hated every minute of it and will NEVER DO IT AGAIN!

Oh well, worth a try
If I buy it.can I then go return the stuff in store and keep the train? -_-

Even if I return items bit by bit? They won't know...

If you like Lego enough to want the train, don’t you like Lego enough to buy some?

And also they will know, they’re called computers...
Managed to qualify for this with £92.98 spend:

Well I’ve preordered the Razor Crest and it’s qualified but surely they aren’t going to have the train in September when they ship it, so do we get it now? If so who’s to stop so cancelling? I’m not going to but you know...

Will backordered items hold up the rest of my order? We always ship LEGO® sets as soon as they’re available, meaning that a backordered set in your order won’t hold up your other items. The only exception to this is free promotional items, which won't ship separately if the rest of your order is on backorder.

On the other hand, parts are always shipped together to make sure we don’t miss any of the bricks you need. If there’s a backordered part in your order, we’ll wait until all your parts are available before sending them out.
There’s now a third free gift, a chocolate and flower set, that can stack with both the DOTS and the train. Triple whammy!
Why's this expired, still avaliable untill 22nd March, though important to note

All LEGO Brand Stores closed until at least 27th March outside of China.

It was definitely until 15th March before but I think they must’ve changed it.
