I was able to download a eBook for free a few weeks ago.
You're showing me the 30% off code working..? I mentioned that the HSBC Advance Account members offer code wasn't working i.e. the code which should allow you to get it for 'free'? 'FREE download of Lonely Planet's Best in Travel 2018 ebook' https://advancemembers.hsbc.co.uk/freebie/lonely-planet
Seems to work for me
HSBC Advance Account code doesn't appear to be working...did you use it recently?
Ordered! Thanks, SpartanDavie!
I purchased a couple of the e-books a few weeks ago, not sure what's considered 'bigger' but New Zealand (700 pages(ish)) was 43Mb and Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Northern Thailand (580 pages(ish)) was 52Mb...(assuming you meant storage space) as opposed to how much your mind can hold? ;)
Some good bargains on there. Just wondering how much memory you will need for some of the bigger 'books'
Thanks, I have changed the description
It's not a 70% off code - it reduces the price to £4.99 (which I'm guessing is UP TO 70% off). I think it's hot though...
Cheers just picked up a guide.
good deal. dont forget over 15% cashback with topcashback.voted hot
top cash back 15.15% good price to get them now heat added
My only claim to fame is that I am very good friends with Maureen Wheeler's brother, here in Norn Iron....not that it has got me half way around the world or anything but its my wee claim...:)
Lonely planet travel books are usually available from local library ebook services .
how do know what they have on their ebooks?
Really? I still come across shed-loads of people using LP books, either hard copies or, more frequently, ebooks. So from my experience it seems that their guides aren't quite as few and far between as you allude. Certainly not the case for India or Sri Lanka (where I am at the mo), across the northern counties of South America last year or Central America the year before....
Doesn't work... says code not valid.
Oh BBC, why did you do it? 100 Mil loss (it's only license payers money) when any fool could see Tripadvisor was a better prospect. One of the few benefits of the trusted lp guide nowadays is that so few people use them you are unlikely to be met by another guide book carrying traveller when taking their recommendations. Would be hot for a physical copy at this price.
Yep that worked. Thanks for that. No idea why ePub does not work.
Sorry, that should have said PDF, not PDR.
I have just ordered and have it in iBooks, treating it as any other PDR download if that helps. So I downloaded from the link in the order confirmation, choosing to download as pdf then when that opened (showing the front cover full screen) I touched the screen for the 'open in iBooks' to appear at the top and selected that. So if you are on your iPad and access the order email hopefully that will work.
Not showing at all in my iBooks. According to their site, a direct download should go to iBooks. Not impressed!
Ok just bought this, and downloaded it, but not showing in my iBooks. I have not done this before by the way!
Yeah I realise that now. My bad guys! Updated accordingly!
The prices you posted aren't correct - the India Ebook is £2 more, but still heat for the code, I got the Southern India book for around £5 after TCB - heat from me :)
it is based on RRP but it's still cheaper than amazon so I'm happy with my purchases :)
ahh pants! oh well, still nice discount.
Actually, I have checked - you are right, its the initial RRP you get the discount from.
& me please!!
I second this if it's possible to send...
can someone send me this. just missed out!
Brilliant! Thanks OP!
Gr8 find most of the books are great for 4.99 less 75p or 4.24 when typically 3 or 4 times that on i books
Not sure if it will track but top cashback has 15% cashback Update: It tracked at 75p :-) Thanks - great deal!
Sigma - Please unexpire as the code still working
TCB / Quidco also 15% for further saving
I used the Croatia 2013 edition on my trip in June and thought it was excellent, first time I had used one and have since got the Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand ones for my next trip. Heat from me, though I used the discount code I added to HUKD a while back for 50% off :)
"Back in the day"....they were good. Company was sold, books went rapidly downhill.
Back in the day, Lonely Planet was THE guide to have with you....now everyone wastes hours on Tripadvisor trying to sort the wheat from the chaff. Save yourself some time...get a Lonely Planet!
