Shopitize App

download the free shopitize app and get money back on your groceries.
yes I expect a lot of people to vote cold but I have started using the app and I think it's great.
exp by a bottle of personal size diet coke for just over a £1 scan the barcode then scan the receipt then you get a £1 into your savings pot on the app.
once you have a minimum of£5 in the savings they will send you either a cheque or via papal.
basically it's coupons that you use after you've bought the item.
read the app for more details.

If you can get things to scan, nothing does on my phone ( galaxy note)

Have some heat I find this app great fun - kids love doing the scanning and have accrued six quid just this week including mcvities chocolate digestives for 10p

Just started using this app and my transactions yesterday worked fine!

Cant grumble at a bottle of Diet Coke for 15p!

thanks everyone who gave me some heat.
I can't wait to get my cheque :-)
shame it's had some.cold votes- people obviously like paying full price for their shopping!

tried loads of times to scan receipts never accepted any of them given up now

Somehow the pics look focussed until I hit snap then you can hardly read them and stitching a long receipt together is hard when you can't see if it's lining up perfectly. I'm waiting to see if it will accept my last attempt as it seems stuck on working.

It would be easier if you could just zoom in on the relevant item and take a pic of that part of the receipt.

Not tried it yet however here is the Android link:

Thank you jillie for sharing the Shopitize app here, and we're glad that you have enjoyed using our app. Also for others who might have encountered issues with snapping receipts, if you could report the receipt directly from the app to our customer service (via menu button for Android; Action button for iOS) We'll look into the problem for you and make sure you get the cashback offer. Hope that helps! Thanks again for trying out the Shopitize app.

Hi there Shopitize... I discovered your app yesterday and it looks very promising. Just a couple of questions...

Where it says 'Tesco', does that include ANY Tesco, such as Extra, Express, Metro, and shop purchases from the petrol station?

If I buy the same product twice, but from a different store, can I claim twice? E.g. if I buy jaffa cakes in Tesco, scan my barcode and submit my receipt... can I then go and buy another box of jaffa cakes in Sainsbury's, scan the barcode again, and submit the Sainsbury's receipt? I think I'm right in saying that I couldn't just buy 2 boxes in Tesco and scan it twice - I'd only get the cashback for one of them?

On your FAQ page it mentions that you may incur extra charges if you make lots of withdrawals... are there any admin charges for drawing cash out? I'm not quite sure what this means as it's a little vague.

What if, through no fault of my own, the supermarket receipt isn't very clear, e.g. printer ink running low? I'm guessing that you have automated systems that scan receipts - is there a way of manually submitting anything that's causing a problem? How soon would we find out if something we had bought was going to be rejected?

Some people like to hide their card details on receipts... is it ok to cross them out or cover them over for the photo?

Finally, is it one account per person, per device, or per household?

Thanks for any answers you can provide!

Great app, just tested it in asda and got £4.00 off a £8.50 shop : )
