I agree, this might look good in image but is in fact of very cheap plastic feel and light . They generally sell for around this price to £79 max.

I have seen this and when you see it up close you will see it's not gonna last you long.
I went for Aqualisa shower with shower head from Screwfix . Think I paid around £150 a year ago and it's of top quality and heavy duty and great pressure.
Aqualisa seem to be as good as Mira if not better by some opinions.

Here's a link to what I have or very similar :

Cheers for sharing @KingSingh - good find (and first deal)
I would think the guarantee is not worth the paper it will be written on, once any of the sellers have vanished from ebay you’ll have no come back for quarantee & as there is no manufacturer name u certainly wont, might aswell put it with the other chinese tat ( landfill)

Cartridge and hose are covered for 12 months.
10 years is a ridiculous statement. Anything going wrong in the first 3 months would be classed as manufacturing defect and covered under the guarantee.
After that they would blame user error and refuse the claim.
They could advertise a 40 year guarentee; but they'd still only pay on the first few months.
good shower for all those slum landlords

I can recommend you to not buy a cheap one like advertised here. I made the mistake myself and i ve had no end of problems.
Forget about the warranty once you buy this cheap Chinese rubbish.
Its been just 3 years and im already replacing all taps and shower again because i bought cheap from eBay.
Don’t bother cheap tat, pay more and buy branded which will last to a lot longer

My 2p worth. Had an iBathuk chinese special installed for over 6 years with not a hint of trouble. Where do Grohe manufacture? Same with the taps, faultless.

Double as a percentage, yes.

Absolute values, not much more but not much more to me could be either a fortune or chicken feed to someone else - depending on perspective and circumstances.

have you ever owned a so called no brand bathroom appliance or are you just assuming the more you pay the better it just has to be? I bought a Deva Edge kitchen mixer tap and it's very poor quality compared to the iBathUK taps I bought for the bathroom. And it's been installed for 2 years less time. Seems like taps and showers is the new wine snobbery to me...

Yes - I’ve had a number of cheap fittings over the years and If might be London’s hard water but they don’t last. End up throwing them away because chasing the guarantee wasn’t easy.

I’ve had an issue with a grohe cistern and parts were sent after a 10 min phone call and an email of the receipt.

As I said, it’s not much extra for hassle free living but clearly you’ve been fortunate in your experience being different.

Which ones have you had, can you remember? BTW, I'm in a hard water area too. I have 3 seperate chinese specials in my bathroom, 2 mixer taps and one thermostatic shower, been in 6+ years and performed faultlessly. And the chrome on them looks brand new even now. I must have been extremely lucky, eh? As must my son who has an almost identical set up...

I’ve had towel heater valves from iBath on eBay was my most recent purchase in 2017 - they lasted 2 years before leaking.

Otherwise I don’t recall because I switched to Grohe in 2013.

Well, you've been very unlucky or I've been very lucky. As long as we are both happy with our experiences everything is fine. Where is Grohe stuff manufactured?
Edited by: "bellboys" 18th Oct
It looks very similar to the shower I have. Bought from ibath (I believe an offshoot of soak.com which went into administration). A really nice shower to use, but the chrome plating is speckled with rust spots and an unknown part behind my tiles is leaving rust streaks. I've renovated my house with all sorts if cheap ibath stuff and half of it is falling apart. You may get lucky, but buyer beware

I haven’t noted but even if it’s made in China, quality of design, materials and manufacturing standards vary even within China.
Bought (and installed) May 2014. The Martin bath mixer tap from iBathuk for the princely sum of 35 quid! The chrome on it is like new!

Can someone (preferably a plumber) on tell me which is the best type of shower to have in?
1. Mixer Power shower
2. Thermo mixer bar
3. Electric shower
Bought this 5 years ago and had 2 thermostats replaced under the warranty, Ended up buying another when the plastic wall fixing snapped

Bought from Victoria plum, the bar failed after a couple of years, and yes the shower head, pipe etc is very flimsy

ended up buying a Grohe and very pleased

I have had exact same looking tap.
Started leaking soon after installing, absolute nightmare to change cartridge in it. Had to completely replace it in the end.
Learned my lesson. Pay bit more for better quality british made stuff than these rubbish...
