This is just pure madness. More power to her. :)

souljacker

Yeah mate did it this year, it said that stage was horrendous, people collapsing, crying, the group he was in had to all stick together in the pitch black at one point and try to get a bit off sleep before the sun came up, fair play to anyone who completes it

lisaloo

Definitely going to watch this. What a woman, what an amazing achievement.

a904lea

I started watching this and listened to various bods saying how awful and dangerous it was, and all I could think was, "don't bloody do it then!". Thanks OP for posting, but not my cup of tea.

I saw it in IMAX, so seeing 16mm footage blown up on such a large screen just looked awful. Loved Damien Chazelle's previous films but I strongly disliked First Man.

neroneuk

not just that, digital at the cinema is made it worse, not enough resolution and picture is really bad. Ordinary projectors on ordinary film was far better. I do prefer to watch a movie at home

mattsmith251100

Just came out of seeing First Man, probably the most boring film I've seen this year.

mattsmith251100

Can't comment on that, my mum wasn't even born in 69 :|

neroneuk

cannot comment because as I said I had a good sleep in Wimbledon odeon, reason why must be because it appeared boring since the beginning. It was more exciting when I saw that live in 1969 when I was a kid as I could not sleep all night

Saw this last night in Milton Keynes, thought it was dreadful. Such an amazing cast as well but it couldn't decide whether it was a gangster film or a comedy and in the end it ends up being neither.

mattsmith251100

I've got Odeon Limitless so I might end up checking it out if I can. Not entirely aware of the story myself until I heard about the film. I'm around the same age as your kid so maybe I'll enjoy it! (lol)

john184

In Northern Ireland cinema is a fair bit cheaper than across the water. You can get a ticket for £4 on Tuesday etc, so if you're not paying too much it's definitely worth a look. I'd give it a 6-7/10 as an interesting 'based on real events' story and not a bad way of killing time. Didn't find it particularly funny though (as it seems to be classified as a comedy) and there was a fair bit of swearing which I didn't feel was totally necessary. My 16year old kid enjoyed it more but most grown-ups who follow the news will know the story before they see it.

mattsmith251100

Glad you enjoyed, worth seeing? Always a shame when people book and don't turn up, been in a few of these screenings where that's happened.

john184

Thanks OP, Wasn't a bad show. Pity about all the scumbags who booked up tickets and didn't go. Belfast wasn't even 1/3 full despite all the tickets being booked up so my mates couldn't go.

You're talking about Paul McCartney? You're out of your mind. He could have been responsible for "Especially for You" by Kylie and Jason and he'd still be one of the greatest musicians ever produced. He doesn't need to realise anything. He can do what he likes. He's THE Paul McCartney. But more than happy to listen to your stuff for comparison Mr Mozart

"One of the music industries’ most iconic superstars". She sold a lot of records and had a good voice but I wouldn't call her especially iconic. She's hardly a Bob Marley, John Lennon, Mick Jagger, Jimi Hendrix etc. Now they are some major icons. In 30 years time will her music and presence still be a major influence! I doubt it.

I guess it depends which cinema you're going to, but I've been to many of these screenings and never had to queue or been turned away before. A couple of times the cinema has been fairly full, but usually there are spare seats as people invariably change their minds at the last minute. Just make sure you are there before the film actually starts, as unlike a paid screening they are usually more strict about letting latecomers in. Good luck and enjoy!
