I tried one of these on the other day and was very impressed. Amazing quality for the price.
Don't own a motorbike but seems a bargain price. Decent quality cycle helmets aren't much cheaper, heat added!
Could imagine getting one as a spare but the old addage is '10 bob lid suits a 10 bob head' - they are this price on their website and £10 for a flip version.

No Shox branded helmets on the Sharp list. You don't have to spend a fortune on a 'fashion brand' helmet (like your heroes wear) but there really are big differences and the Sharp scheme helps sort the really good from the barely compliant.

For what it's worth I'd point you towards Caberg for high scoring lids at reasonable prices (around £100 should do it). Fit is still a vital factor though and difficult to establish without trying the helmet on.
Excellent helmet for the money just bought one :-)

For what it's worth the SHARP system causes a lot of debate!
I'm sure I read a report at the time of release where they were marking manufacturers down because a small region of the helmet couldn't protect from impact twice...and this area of the helmet was affected in a miniscule amound of crashes (around the ears), and most riders experiencing a heavy impact there would suffer a snapped neck.

All the above is from (very sketchy) memory but I'm not sure I'd buy a lid of fthe internet (royal mail football) from an unknown manufacturer, without testing the fit. The fit is the most important factor of a good helmet and linings that don't go baggy after 2 months.
You can get a gold ACU rated VCan or nitro helmet for the same price from a local shop. I'd much sooner do that.
Besford is right. Stretch to £50 and you can get a 4 out of 5* helmet listed on SHARP
Cheap helmet > no helmet at all.

Saying that, the fact I can't find any actual photos of these helmets doesn't fill me with confidence, just that vector image.
Great price but wouldn't price my head at £29.99. No ACU accreditation either. Anyone who puts one of these on their head is an idiot. The way I see it is this, I need an ACU Gold accredited helmet to pass scrutineering before a race weekend, if I crash it's usually into a gravel trap. If you crash on the road, it's amongst cars, trucks and brick walls. Think about it...........
Better than nothing but you only get one head so better to invest some money in a better helmet in my opinion.
Maybe not the safest, but OK for giving the mother in law lifts!:{

There was a lot of debate because some of the biggest brands and most expensive helmets got bad scores. and they tried to rubish the methods used in the SHARP tests.

When in reality these expensive helmets were just simply too strong and didn't do what a helmet is meant too do, which is to absorb the impact and crumple if needed,
Do not skimp on a crash helmet, there is no one tighter than me, but I wouldn't go budget on an item of such importance.

Applaud the sentiment but price alone is no measure of protection. You need to refer to a proper, objective measure (eg Sharp testing).
if 30 quid is all the value you put on your life then you are an idiot.

you eally do get what you pay for with bike helmets.
For pitys sake please no one buy one of these. It really could be a decision that costs you your life.
Cheap & crash helmet should not be used in the same sentence.

Goto a shop and push the sides together & see how much they flex.

Do this with a £200 helmet & see the difference.........now imagine your head was in it during the event of a crash.....

I reckon I could give you a run for your money for that title!
This is one hot topic. but i don't think people who bought this is an idiot.
Don't be a hypocrite, if you value your head so much is a £400 odd helmet the price of your head? that is cheap too. there is no value, just drive safely then you won't need it.
