Hillwalking and biking would be the main things. Birdwatching, photography. Amazing views from the Stiperstones nearby. Long Mynd feels like a mini Highlands but is ten times more accessible.

There is a working Victorian farm a mile or 2 from the site called Acton Scott, which is really interesting.

Shrewsbury and Ludlow are great for restaurants & bars and independent shops and food markets. Both have castles and museums too.
For £600 a month I'd live there, as long as Wifi is free.... I mean they even allow Dogs, I couldn't rent a place that allowed Dogs.

Hobbiton is looking rough nowadays.

Basically its camping without bringing your own tent. Bring your own bed?
this is a good deal but the last time it was flagged up, same comments came up about having to bring your own bed. so you need an inflatbale bed or sleeping bags.
is the toilet shared?
Did a similar experience last year.. it was a hot day and the heat inside the shed was unbearable. Beautiful part of the country though.
By any stretch of the imagination that is not glamping, bring bedding and a lilo is that their little joke.
Only availability is september onwards - Looks nice though

Yes but they let you take turns

I guess it will be, for that reason urrghh! not for me and my regular night trips.
Wipe those down before you touch anything. I imagine the walls are plastered
I'm surprised they haven't renamed these as bubbles for the time being...
You pay this for a pitch on any decent campsite, so it's a very fair price. Proper Glamping, in a nice place, with bedding etc is easily £100 a night these days.

This site is in a beautiful area, Shropshire is so underrated.

My father lives just up the road so I know this location well. Nearby Shrewsbury is a fantastic little town to visit, too.

The site is by a fairly busy road, so not the most tranquil place in the world. But it should be quiet at night though. The pub next door is nice too.

Don't know, but patches of grass have been rentable for well over 100 years
Judging by the pictures, my garden has more privacy than these "pods". And I have a tent. Anyone?
Bring own bed AND probably no shared showers / loos given COVID ??

You generally aren't going to have as much privacy on a public campsite as you do in your private garden. And your tent isn't going to be very useful in the Winter when many/most campsites are closed

I’ll do the same with my hobbit hole

No probs. It's not the most touristic region, but if you're lucky with the weather it's a gorgeous place to be.
I can't find any photos of the pod interiors. Anyone find one?

Does anyone know why on website it states pod (sleeps 5) but on groupon max occupancy rate is x2?! I wanted to bring my child with us.

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means

shoddy

adjective
badly made or done.

This is good value for the offering. As others have mentioned, true "glamorous camping" with ensuite, underfloor heating cooking facilities etc can cost £100-£200/night. This is better thought of as a warm and dry place to sleep in without having to bring and erect your own tent. They are very popular with hill-walkers and cyclists, as 4 people in one for say £50/night works out at just under £90/person for a whole week's accommodation, with somewhere separate to wash/toilet. There is a massive market for this, even if it isn't aligned with the expectations of many of the HUKD community.

There’s a lot to do around here, plenty of National trust properties and gardens, Ludlow is local which is a lovely town, there’s a lovely river you can go for a paddle in, a Victorian style farm and castles, Shropshire is one of my favourite places in the uk
I mean just over £20 a night is ace, and at least you have a solid structure with power.

This is just camping without canvas, seems good value to me

Funniest comment of the week. Priceless.

I believe you can add an extra person for £5 per night if more than 2 people payable directly to the place. I think the Groupon listing is incorrect, but maybe email shropshireoutdoor@gmail.com to double check if you were thinking of taking up the offer. thanks

edit @jinkssick - I emailed them to find out and confirmed it's an extra £5 per night for extra guests above 2 people that would be paid directly to Mountain Shropshire when you book with the Groupon voucher.

Been here a few times now. The pub was awesome but completely messed it up and lost all its character and locals.
The food is very good though. I'd highly recommend hiring e-bikes from the on site bike shop as you can get loads more riding and downhills into your day and its still a good workout whilst seeing some great countryside.

These empty pods will be so easy for the owners to keep clean, just need a mop and a low pressure hose.

5 minutes and job done.

Yes, I've been up there many, many times.

Just made me laugh (sorry). The notion that a few lumps and bumps make somewhere look like the Highlands made me chuckle more than it should. That's all.

It's a nice part of the world though, worth a visit.
