I know these have come up previously, but not at this price - An absolute bargain in my opinion. Only £15 more than the E2gs, and apparently a much better product. I doubt they'll stay at this price for long, so be quick. This is my first deal - hope it's ok.

Good deal there mate.

Cracking price for a truely great set of earphones. I paid £100 for my e3g's a couple of years ago and it's the best money I've ever spent on anything audio. I must have wasted twice that in the past trying to find a decent set.

... for the price of an E2C, Exellent bargain. Voted hot!

i dont knw much abt earphones, so im not gna vote, but why on earth would someone spend that much on earphones???

I use my earphones for many, many more hours each day than I want my telly or sit on my couch. Why wouldn't I spend £100 on excellent headphones in comparison to the price of a TV or sofa?

People spend thousands on hi fi equipment getting this sort of sound quality, a few hundred quid on some decent shures is nothing.

and we spend so much on mp3-players and laptops, tv's and dvd's, then why not have a good set of phones too ?

cikki100 - you should try listening to a quality pair (in a shop or wherever) as you'll really have your eyes (your ears !) opened !

That's what I don't get. People who spend a fortune getting what they believe is the very best mp3 player and then use the awful headphones that come with them? Seems bizarre to me if I'm honest.

I just spent £30 on a pair of new apple earphones so another tenner for these is a bargin

I'm quite into audio but obviously not that much as I've very little knowledge of these (other than knowing that they exist!).

For day-2-day stuff I use these: amazon.co.uk/Sen…8-1

Can anyone here speak from experience as to say if it's worth my upgrading?

I have the Sennheisers and didn't really like them. They sound alright, but fit poorly and the outside noise overwhelms the audio.

Trust me, the Shure's are simply unbelievable in comparison. My old man mocked me for spending so much on headphones. He had one listen to the Shure's and ordered them himself.

The cx300s are an absolute bargain at the price, but this is a better-quality headphone. I found a couple of reviews indicating that this is quite a bit better.

Hard to tell if it's worth it, but maybe at the price it's worth a try....

Hmmm... interesting. I guess I could send them back if I don't like them (although given the style of headphone that's a bit gross perhaps). Think I'll have a mull on this...

Thank you very much for the links.

Can anyone comment on the sizing on these as I bought some cx300 ones and had to sell them on as none of the inserts fitted my ears ( all to big)?

bah humbug, you lot have more money than sense.

how abouts these beauties? surely your fancy smancy headphones can't hold a candle to these!

There are a variety of sizes and styles of "Sleeves". The headphones come with a bag containing a pair of each type and each size.

Basically try them all out and settle on the ones best for you.

Small, soft rubber sleeves for me. About £10 for a bag of 10 and I replace them every 4 or 5 months.

so whats the deal with these headphones- will they be wasted on an ipod shuffle? i am wanting to rid myself of the same abhorrent album my gym insists on playing every night.....!!!
am i putting a ferrari badge on a corsa?

Most mp3 music is garbage quality when you listen with decent speakers/phones, so probably not.

nothing wrong with an ipod shuffle, provided the mp3s are good.

I just got some earphones that are the same style as these (rubber thingy on ends) and it feels like I'm underwater all the time. Also, I can't really eat with them on, especially not twiglets. :-(

I wish my iPod headphones hadn't broken. :-(

who eats with headphnes on?

me, during lunch at work

Also, these E3c can be used as monitors, which is why shure started making them in the first place. If you make and produce your own music, and want to know you are doing it well, then these earphones can do the job of a pair of monitors that cost hundreds of pounds more. Excelllent excellent deal

I have these and have found them to be a bit lacking in bass. If u listen to alot of bass driven music then you will be slightly disappointed 'cause they just don't go so deep. On the other hand they are excellent for vocal stuff.

I bought some a while back and sold them on Ebay.....To me they are highly overrated, but maybe to somebody that cares about that extra tiny almost inaudible difference then they are probably the best thing ever made. I used to use them with my guitar for late night use and they were no better than my Sennheiser ones costing £30 (bearing in mind i paid £70 for these!!!)

Also they look cheap!!....why would a company selling top of the range in the ear heaphones make their product costing £70 look like a set of £1.99 argos specials!!...??....especially in the white colour!!

How much did you get on ebay? Isn't it a bit unhygienic?

I might ebay them if I don't like them.

Which Sennheisers do you have?

I currently use Sennheiser PX100s, hoping these will provide sound isolation on the train.

i have the MX90VC

The Shures come with a set of different earbuds of which i only used the one pair once or twice so i wouldnt say unhygenic.

Great deal, rep added too.

Well i never heard of these before!
Senheiser i thought were good headphones (certainly better than my sony's)
But have problems with background noise travelling around.

Ordered some of these, you guys all seem to swear buy em! Why the hell not! :-D

Any ear canal (note: NOT the normal in ear) style head phone will solve the noise problem.

There are quite a few to choose from

Anyone doubting spending money on headphones hasn't experienced good quality ones themselves. I have some e4cs that are literally breathtaking. I imagine these ones would be pretty darn good at that price; shure is great.

Hrrm, well I have a pair of Sennheiser HD600s, so I'm well aware of what good headphones can do. The point I was making is that most portable music is well below the standard that would need these sort of earphones.

:-D :w00t:

shure ranges are worth for every penny.

Having owned more pairs of earphones than I can care to count I can vouch for Shures. ButI've never tried the E3c's. I recently got the amazing deal on the Shure E4c's for only £80 rather than the £160 that they are meant to cost. They are absolutely sublime!

But I still own the Bose Triport headphones and although I would agree with you about all other Bose equipment these headphones are very good. More bass than any of the inear headphones can provide and also very comfortable and lightweight for headphones.

I've also owned a couple of top end Sony earphones, a pair of Etymotics and a pair of Bang and Olufsens.

The Shure E4c beats them all but I had a soft spot for the B&O ones because of their comfort and also the Bose for their bass.

If you listen to a lot of bass then you might be better off with the e3g's the so-called "gaming" edition.

Not sure why, but the bass is a little stronger on them. I tried the c's and the g's before settling on the g's for that reason.

c's still sound superb though. My old man was appalled that I could spend over £100 on a pair of headphones. He had one listen to the c's to see what I was making a fuss about, and bought them there and then.
