Personally I think I’d now prefer to go true wireless but if you’re in the market for the official means of making your existing Shure wired earphones wireless, this is a big price drop on Amazon.

This is even better, for £79 you get the wireless version of SE215's which comes with the same cable (price drop from around £150 to £79 according to the 3 camels

Yes, that is an excellent deal if you don’t already have the earphones, or want some spares!
My guess is these weren't selling well this should be it's rrp however heat added
I have the 215’s with the BT1 cable. Anyone know if it’s worth upgrading? The sound quality is noticeably worse than their cheaper wired offers (Eg the se112 or s115) when playing voice-based podcasts.

It looks like BT2s have the latest aptx and Bluetooth 5, so definitely worth upgrading at this price. It'll probably only cost you £30 if your sell the BT1s.

Very tempting. From what I can tell it’s the same ear unit so I could sell the newer units with the BT1 cable
I am tempted to buy this to convert my ancient SE510 pair but worry that I would lose the details due to the wireless connection.

"Support for multiple codecs. Qualcomm aptX audio, aptX HD, aptX Low Latency, AAC, and SBC enable superior digital audio."

It probably depends on your source, but if it supports any of these, then the sound quality will be excellent - miles away from a basic Bluetooth connection.

Good choice of words, 'superior' kind of means 'good quality' but obviously not hi-fi sound

Most will be happy though, I reckon (audiophiles generally fuzzy folk 😁)

Can get some amazing Bluetooth clips for that money like the fiio or the hiby clips and they will also support ldac I'm sure.

I actually just received my hiby w3 yesterday. Pretty good so far. Great features such as additional separate amp, and becomes an amplified soundcard when plugged to a USB device.
My gripe so far is that my phone and device decide to pair in ldac mode instead of aptx HD. So I have to manually do that. Other than that first world problem, the quality is astounding, using a kz zs6, but have a kz zs10 pro on order. Will try with my Shure earphones tonight.

If your Android phone supports AptX then you won't hear any detail loss due to transmission.
When listening from a phone, unless you've got a LG V30 quad DAC, this will be a definite upgrade.
I've got the SE-415+BT2 and, with minor niggles (skip track controls are slow to the point of useless) quality is more than enough for the convenience of wireless. Max volume is lower (and slightly less detail from the DAC) than my other wireless DAC (A&K XB10) but I usually listen at 50% anyways (unless I get a "Bombtrack").

The LG phones usually have very good separate DAC/amps in them starting with the lg G5 onwards, any V or G series phone should have a decent DAC/AMP of use aptx/ aptx hd/ldac as I'm sure you won't notice any downgrade.
I'm using an Bluetooth clip which is proving to be amazing so far.

Why would you not want to use LDAC, I found that it was slight improvement over Aptx-HD, when I had a phone that supported it?

I found it the same, the the hiby w3 only supports onboard EQ on bitrates 48khz or 44.2khz, which I could only do with aptx HD

It's not an issue as my phone (LG G7+)has much much better EQ which I prefer. Which I will revert back to.
But it's good to experiment.. was worth trying!.

I wondered by Shure were dumping all the SE215 and BT2. I think this is the reason:
