Been on the hunt for a treat for my kitchen and came across this on John Lewis, fully connected coffee machine, with Siemens build quality (three year warranty) coming in at under £1,500 with cashback. Has an IFC option via PayPal credit if you don't want to stump it all up before Christmas too.

Nice looking machine.
Love my Espresso, just not this much.
Go for a sage instead!
Unless it's connected to the rich and famous then i'm out!
Can you believe anyone would.......,
Get yourself a tin of Nescafe Barista. You won't be able to tell the difference.
We got the Sage one from John Lewis and it's brilliant!!!

Under £40 and makes proper espresso.

Picked a Chinese one for a fiver. It's good. Have a 5 cup (apparently) and fill half the tank, warm some milk first then pour it all in. It uses less pressure but definitely double ristretto strength!

That is definitely not proper espresso. It makes a good cup of coffee nonetheless.
There is an eq500 model
Any thoughts on this

You will..
Just by being willing to put in a little bit of effort instead of pushing a button you can get a nice high end grinder and machine for that kind of money. Unless it's for an office you'd have to be an idiot to buy this

Of course it is.
Surprisingly this is not even close to being the most expensive coffee machine on the John Lewis website... As much as I would love a proper bean to cup machine, I can't imagine how to justify such prices.... Can the coffee really be that good??

Of course it is.

It isn't, its very similar but its certainly not espresso. Espresso is just coffee brewed under high pressure, moka pots etc have much less pressure but a higher extraction ratio over espresso, but just because they're similar, it doesn't mean they are the same. Not a bad thing, they make lovely coffee still.

Pressure, its not even a 1/4 of the pressure. Espresso by definition is water pushed through ground coffee at a high pressure. Its certainly similar, but it isn't espresso.
