Best price I could find for a good basic VOIP phone- recevied it last week- took about 5 minutes to set up with Sipgate and away you go.

Sipgate is way costlier if you are going to call someone's normal phone.... I use localphone.com which is far cheaper than Sipgate...

I also have the s685, but had to switch off the info service which killed my network connection.

I use SIP Provider one for incoming on an 0207 number I have.
I use another SIP Provider for low cost outgoing calls.
I do not want to reciver calls on the second provider only route outbound calls.
I do not want to send outbound calls to the first provider for incoming calls.

How do the phones work for incoming calls can I set up rules so only all phone ring on incoming PSTN calls and only selects phones ring for my SIP 0207 number's incoming call?

I've heard the Gigasets are really good. How is the user interface?

good price, OP heat added.

Might be worth changing the title / first post to explain this is NOT A NORMAL DECT PHONE but a combined Landline/Cable phone with SIP gatway built in. Comparable to the more expensive Panasonic.

"The Siemens A580 DECT IP Phone is the latest addition to the Gigaset range of cordless dual mode phones. As with the S685IP and C475IP, the new A580 base station can be connected to both a standard landline and Broadband for IP/Internet Calls. Up to 6 handsets can be registered to the base station and it allows two internet calls as well as a landline call to be made at the same time.

As VOIPTalk says..

This stylish handset maintains the ease of use and quality of the … This stylish handset maintains the ease of use and quality of the existing range with the addition of an SMS functionality PSTN/VoIP up to 160 characters for easy text messaging. The A580IP handset has an illuminated B/W display 96x64 pixel and features 5 polyphonic ring tones and 10 melodies.Being able to register the A580IP with 6 different SIP accounts gives the users the advantage of having 6 separate numbers or extensions at the same time, maximizing the use of their Internet connection for voice calls."

not voting as these can be limited, all you need is sip router and plenty out there around £50 with enormous config you can get them to do what ever you want it for, I have a baby cisco unit at home and been using for over 4 years and I probably saved a small fortune on my international calls. even PAP routers can be configured in many ways so you can have 2 sip accounts and route them the way you want to route them ! With also this way you can use any cordless phone of your preference other than this hideous siemens piece of junk ( Panasoinic and Siemens OMG they still in the last century with their designs and their functionality. Before anyone starts yadi yada I should know as I should know due to the fact I get involved in alot of technology projects with siemens.
