Only 8kg capacity for £449

it's not the size of your load that's important but the quality.

our kitchen is full of Siemens appliances and I can tell you this stuff is ultra reliable, not the usual white goods that need replacing every few years
So it is £50 off the standard price?
Its actually an Extra 3 years gurantee on top of the 2 John Lewis includes making it 5yrs in total, those extra 3 are direct with Siemens

I have the same model, all be it a few years older, and its been great. I went for it as it was a quality brand and came with a 5yr Siemens warranty, bought it from AO for a similar price to this if I remember correctly

You're paying for quality not capacity, maybe some buyers should stick to their 'disposable' Hotpoint washers.

Also might be of interest (I'm amazed its not getting much heat) is this deal hotukdeals.com/dea…404
Maybe I'm cheap but I see it as insane paying more than £300 for a washer and even then I think that's high, it's a simple machine that just churns your clothes with soap? We're still using a Proline from the late 90's that cost around £180 and it is still running well.

good machine but even siemens are cutting corners, these are just bosch with a few more programmes.they also have a plastic outer tub
It's the 3 year warranty that makes this a good all rounder - even with the plastic tub and non servicable bearings.

Just temember to do a 90 degree wash (empty) once every few weeks to clean out the drum and heating element.

Ensure you clean the filter every week/two weeks at least.

Also, I don't use conditioner much - as essentially it's (simply) a type of grease which is not so good for washing machines.

Reasonable all rounder of a deal.

My experience has been quite the opposite. Had a Siemens washing machine with a 5 year warranty. Must have had the engineers out 5 times in the warranty period. Each time having to wait for THEIR engineer which was minimum 3 days, sometimes a week. Always problems with an F20 code. It was a really poor machine, the worst I've had. And it's all well and good having a 5 year warranty but not when you are obliged to await the official engineers. Would rather have had a cheaper machine that 'anyone' can fix to be honest.

Should it be given tea and dumplings occasionally too, just to make it feel special.

I have had my Siemens machine for over 11 years, totally fault free, but I suppose it is going to need replacing very soon -
unfortunately I don't think ANY are reliable now, but the problem is, with all of them - you get stuck with the service agent the manufacturer provides, and that's not even as good as a fixed lottery! Worst experience I had (last year) was with a tumble drier, and that was "Serviceforce" the AEG/Electrolux?Zanussi agents who make your experience sound like paradise! TEN WEEKS and countless visits to repair it. It wold have been worse, but that was with John Lewis pressing them!
You are making SIemens sound like the best buy around, and I am nearly convinced!

USED to be very reliable. Mine is over 11 - don't think a new one will see anything like that life unfortunately.

OMG, that sounds like a nightmare. I have come to the conclusion that one should buy cheap, get generic repairs or replace after 3-5 years and just accept that's the way it goes. Nothing seems to be built like it was...(including people - some of the octogenarians I know are so incredibly tough and resilient!).
I've got a Siemens washing machine and dishwasher, both bought at John Lewis with the five year warranty. Got the warranties out today to see how much was left to run on them and was surprised to discover that they are nine years old! Never had a problem with either, I run a hot wash with white vinegar through them both once a month(ish), then another to rinse them through.
I'm worried about replacing them as I doubt I'll get anything nearly as good.

I would suggest that few white goods items are worth repairing out of warranty at all! With call out fees and parts they soon become uneconomical, spend say £100 on a repair to find something else pops in 2 or 3 months time and spending more money just makes no sense when a cheap machine is going to be a better buy. Whilst I don't do it, it even makes buying an ultra-cheap machine and treating it as throw-away seem a more sensible option

My quandary too. Just remember that JL, as good as they can be sell own brand white goods which are AEG manufactured, and NOT reliable - and you will be stuck with the hopeless "Serviceforce" repair "network" so don't be tempted by them if you expect reliability.
I got significantly compensated from JL, but it was still a genuine nightmare with one of their own brand Heat pump tumble dryers! Needless to say the washing machine won't be one of theirs, but I am under no illusion that Siemens are anything like as good now.
Price is showing as £579 so £529 with the code. Am I missing something or have they put it up?
Siemens is the same stuff as bosch in case people get wet pants from this.

Yes, but it's not often Bosch products come with as much warranty as this, unless you pay extra for it.
