It's the 150-600 if anyone wants to know.

Edited accordingly. Been a long day!!!

The Tamron might be better value at the moment. £749 on Amazon with £75 cash back as well.

Both good lenses. Tamron slightly heavier, only one focus length lock (Sigma has 2), and Optical Stabilisation is better on the Sigma too. Focus ring on the Tamron slightly bigger - easier if you are a little ham-fisted.

The tamron and siggy are pretty well matched. Its just personal preference.

Just as a word of warning... do all autofocus calibration without the uv filter on. If the lense then starts front on back focussing all the time once its back on bin the uv filter. Ive had this exact issue previously with an expensive uv filter

lense

It's "lens", not "lense"

Throw any UV filter you have into the sky and use the lens hood for protection instead.

I've always wanted a "SIGMA 150-600 f5-6.3 DG OS HSM", will look great next to the geraniums

The OP needs changing as the deal is for the lens not the filter!!!

I love this lens. Paid a lot less for it pre-Brexit, though.

One tip I'd give is to use the hood, and dispense with the UV filter. UV filters are a bit of a con these days - they reduce light (which you really need in a lens as slow as this, especially given the fast-moving nature of your targets), decrease contrast, introduce glare and flare, and serve no benefit on digital other than to give the front element some (generally unnecessary) protection.

Probably a bit too slow for me but nice to see DSLR deals

We are still pre-Brexit! You're confusing the correction of an overvalued pound with Brexit

Got one of these. Love it. Super sharp and OS helps. Paid a lot more than this on release. Defo worth it!

Paid £710 about a year ago
Great lens, need this sort of reach for airshows nowadays
Agree about no uv filter and just use the huge lens hood

Also with the 1.4 X TC-1401 Convertor for £849 (but no filter)

Pre-Brexit referendum, obs. And if you want to check our currency's history, you'll note a pretty significant drop which coincides perfectly it.

and if you do your homework, you will see that the pound was overvalued way before then

Ok...ok... haha

However should it not be lenses as a lens is a single peice of curved glass....

By the by, i agree. Lens hood is more than enough:)
