Bank Holiday weekend promotion, down from £179.99 to £99.99 with free collection in store or extra for delivery to your house.

Yes, it's not going to win you any photography awards but image stabliisation and HSM for slightly less motor noise when auto-focussing for £99.99 can't be too bad for beginners.

is this any better than the equivalent tamron lens?

Not for me but voted hot as seems a good price.

Gets a reasonable review for anyone wanting to supplement their 'kit' lens. Has great OS performance too.

An absolute steal at the price! Everywhere else seems to have it for around £175.

Well spotted!

would this fit the EOS range of Canons?

Yes on APS-C sensors - i.e. so long as it's not a full frame jobbie. [only the much dearer ones are]

Would still fit, but you'd get serious vignetting

Shame they don't have the Sony one on offer as I'd prob grab one.

Ordered thanks. Will make a good zoom lens for my D3100.

How does this compare to the Canon 55-250mm?

Will this auto focus on a Nikon D3100?

would it fit on a nikon d60?

Would it fit on my Ford Focus?

better or worse than Nikon 55-200mm VR 4-5.6?

Definitely!!

cheers

I bought one about a week ago, from Jacob's, whilst in Newcastle-U-T.
Only had a limited time to use it, but my first impressions are that it's better than the Canon EFS 55-250 IS.
Does anyone else have any, more considered, thoughts on this comparison?
Thanks in advance.

Looks like I missed this one!
