I have this and use it regularly for transferring music/images off my phone (Micro SD) and cameras SD/Mem Stick Pro. Had no problems, well worth a pound!

usually USB 1 or 1.1

I use poundland all the time for anything i want, it prob is 1.1 but doesn't bother me once it does the job

This particular one is USB 2.0 Certified

picture says usb 2.0

That means that the readers are USB 2.0 and you have stuck it into a USB 1.0 port on your PC. Its telling you that the PC needs upgrading to make the reader work at its full speed....

Sometimes you have a mix of USB1 and USB2 ports (I have 2 USB2 and one USB1 on my old laptop) so worth trying it in different USB ports to see if it complains on every one or whetehr it foinds a USB2 port and doesn't complain....
