quiet often the staff takes them before they go on the shop floor
You'll be lucky if you find any left now as all the electric blankets were reduced to £1 last Thursday, I posted on here but MOD moved it to miscellaneous! Staff took them all in my local. I'll mention again that the 75th Batman 4 figure sets were also reduced as staff took all of those too, not sure if they were as low as £1 but worth price checking in your local as were obviously cheaper than shelf price (had been reduced from £30 to £20 couple weeks earlier).

We always get these quips about electric blankets - I wonder if they're based on evidence, hearsay or prejudice.

In the 80s an electric blanket caught fire in our house - that's the only one. I assume they're safer now - or I hope so, as I regularly sleep with mine on low in cold weather

If their gone before they even put them on shelf then again why would they take them all since many shops only have a few workers and they get a alot of stock, unless they bought 20 blankets each i dont see it

why should they? it's the customers that keep the shops going that pay the staffs wages! maybe the practice needs to be highlighted to the relevant persons at head office.

It's the low staff wages that result in the low prices which keep the customers coming to the shops.

As pib said, they are probably on near minimum wage, maybe even zero hours contracts, who knows. I respect that the staff of the company may be allowed to get any discounts or offers first. I'd be disappointed in any company who didn't allow this.
