Just read the 1 and 2 star reviews on Amazon. It's not a good quality mattress. Thank goodness, Amazon have a customer based review system.

I bought one of these mattresses 2 years ago, its not ideal actually, it's quite uncomfortable when compared to an item of higher quality (and cost). I frequently had sore lower back when using it, have since bought a better one. If your budget is tight then its a great item, however spending the extra on a decent one was well worth it for me.
I guess this is why they say try out mattresses before you buy.....this is without doubt the best mattress i've ever had, and that includes some pretty expensive ones

We have 2 of the king size ones. 1 is our main bed and 1 is used maybe a couple times a month for visitors. Always get good reviews from the visitors and I love our own one.

As for the smell, it did smell for the first day or 2 but after that it has been fine. Can't go in to longevity really. Our main one we've had for 14 months and it has been fine though.
Great for a guest mattress although the smell was so bad on the first one I had from Amazon last year that they ended up replacing it. It still stunk 6 months after I bought it Which apparently it shouldn't
Review after four months use is helpful . Fortunately "All of our rolled up mattress products are hypoallergenic, dust mite resistant and come with a five year guarantee..." although not clear who would be responsible for effecting a warranty claim with regard to any need to retun an item. silentnight.co.uk/mat…es/

You'd want to go to Amazon, not silent night. Silent night's warranty isn't worth the paper it's written on, after a couple of years you have to pay to send it back (on a bloody mattress!) and they only give you a reduced percentage back too.

Thanks, very imformative and greased shoulders as I expected.
best mattress we have ever used in my opinion, best to couple it with a 3 inch thick memory foam topper also available from amazon. The smell worn off after about 2/3 weeks and after 6 months its still thick and comfortable to sleep on.
is it 100% memory foam or spring and just a layer of memory foam

No springs, just layers with no obvious mention of the depth of the mf layer

I don't profess to be an expert, but I suspect all mattresses described as "memory-foam" will only offer a layer of mf. Don't think I have ever seen (nor would want) one that is 100% mf. But yes, some mf mattresses have a ridiculously thin mf layer to the extent that the benefits of mf may not be noticeable.

A wise man once told me "Two things are most important for your body -1 Where you sleep and 2 What shoes you walk on. When we wake up we put our shoes on and we walk/stand for 8+ hours. When we get back home we go to sleep/bed. For that reason always choose these two things wisely, even if it cost you a bit more"
Has anyone got the Morgedal memory foam mattress from IKEA? What are your thoughts on it? Its £200 for a king size.
