Do these have one or two controllers? Thanks

I just noticed this on Tesco site. Never noticed it before:

The minimum basket charge is a £4 charge that's added to all online orders where the basket value* is under £25. It only applies if your basket total is under £25 when you complete your online checkout. If you come back to amend your order, the minimum basket charge will only remain / be added if your basket is still under, or has fallen under £25 when you re-submit your order.

If your basket is under £25 when you checkout, the minimum basket charge applies whether you're shopping on desktop, mobile, or tablets and whether your shopping is being delivered to your home (whichever delivery slot you've selected), a store or another location.

Don't worry though, if Tesco make substitutions, or you refund a product(s) and your order total then drops under £25, you won't be charged. Equally, if your whole order is refunded for any reason, the minimum basket charge will be refunded at the same time.

To avoid the minimum basket charge, just make sure your basket total is £25 or more when you complete your checkout.

You will earn Clubcard points on the minimum basket charge. When you checkout, if you've incurred the charge, your additional points will be added there and then

Yes that's where I saw it and noticed there is a £4 minimum basket charge if you don't spend £25 - is that new?

No they have had a £25 minimum spend for a while now - just another way to make extra money. Luckily I had a delivery booked in for tomorrow anyway so I have just added it to that.

They've got to draw the line somewhere otherwise they'll be out delivering 10p sweets!

But they charge for delivery, don't they? So what would it matter if they were delivering 10p sweets if you paid for delivery?

It's not to make extra money. More to try and make the service pay. All the major supermarkets lose money on home delivery.

That's what I meant - if they didn't have the £4 charge or the minimum basket spend.

Thanks!

I think you are missing the point, they charge you the delivery cost and the £4 if you spend under £25 so yes it is to make extra money.

Thanks just ordered from the Groceries Site. Will be delivered with my shopping next week.

They have loads at Walkden

I'm not missing the point at all. If there was no minimum spend or delivery charge added my point was that people would be able to order and have delivered a basket with a value of just 10p. How would any supermarket be able to sustain that? So is it really to make money or to cover costs? I live 17 miles from the nearest Tesco that delivers, how much do you think it costs to deliver to me? I know it gets tied in with other deliveries but round my way it's just wouldn't be worth while for small orders.

Looks like it may have expired....
