I have one of these and they are fantastic and get nice and warm, but you really need another blanket over the top to keep the heat in. If the blanket is laid out flat and you were to touch it it might not feel that hot, but wrap it around you and it’s nice and warm.
I wrap it from mid chest down and round my feet while home working, indoor temp is around 17 but I’m super cosy with this, and then I put the heating on in the evening for when the family get in, it just saves me heating the whole house when I’m the only 1 in. (edited)

I agree with needing an extra blanket over the top. Iv had 3 different brands and they all benefitted from this. Holds the heat in.

I took some of these back this week - they just didn't get warm never mind hot

Is it meant to warm all over the whole blanket or some areas only. Ours warms one or two parts only.

How much electricity does this consume roughly?

Between 12, 23 and 40 watts, apparently. Highest setting works out at 1.6p per hour based on 34p per kWh. Lowest setting approx 0.5p per hour!! (edited)

It's rubbish pal bought one myself etured after few days heats up one side and wasn't even warm on the hot side. The cosihome ones on Amazon are slightly more 72 but reviewa are great and have had mine 2weeks wow unreal so warm and cosy hope this helps a little.

Good price - no doubt the vultures will jump on to buy > sell for more
I am hovering over the buy button for more for the same one - I am seeing mixed reviews however in terms of either reliability and/or how hot it actually gets

It's not bad tbh, got one about two weeks ago.

It's doesn't get mind blowingly hot like similar ones for beds however deffo does the job and also works really well in bed, have found putting a blanket over it works really well

you need a blanket over the top. It cant be nice and cosy and insulating and at the same time also radiate heat. The heat needs to be trapped so hence the need to have a blanket over the top to stop the heat escaping.

Purchased 2 last month. Ignore negative reviews- those that have returned for more expensive throws etc. This throw is great does the job and uses little electricity. Very reasonably priced given the hike on a lot of these kind of throws/blankets.

I got one each for my Son and I. Using it on the lowest heat setting with a thin throw over the top is perfect. As mentioned by rupert-hd, it acts to keep the heat in. This blanket heats from corner to corner which was its best feature for me. I’ve seen loads of things for sale with a small sized heat panel and they look like a real disappointment. Heat added. 🔥

None of those throws in the Crawley store.I ended up buying a Sanitas heated over blanket in Lidl instead for £34.99.six temperature settings and fleece Machine washable.3 year Guarantee.
It could be an alternative to look out for. (edited)

the problem with Silentnight versions of the throw, is that they don't get warm enough compared to the more expensive brands. But for the price, that is to be expected and probably worth it.

Beg to differ ,under one now and can't stand it on level 3 to hot ! we had expensive one it had a rapid heat function so heated quicker but Silentnight version is just as hot
Edit just checked wattage and it draws 110watts on high setting ,that enough to keep you toasty (edited)

They did in my local, I can honestly say the Sanitas one does everything the Silentnight one should have done.
Plus it is not shedding everywhere. If you can get one, go for it.

I did a lot of research on these after realising that heating the entire house (central heating) or even trying to heat an entire room's worth of air seemed like a waste of money and I always still felt cold.

Eventually went for 2 of the CosiHome heated throws for my wife and me (we both work at home) and they are fantastic. They cost a lot more (I think we paid £70) but they get hot very fast and get really hot. Just putting it over your lap while working on the computer is enough, on about medium setting.

I would imagine so! This site never fails to amaze me, not only do some people never bother posting a single deal despite being a member of this community for years (and by the way, I've absolutely no problem with that, some people don't have the time or inclination), but what I find distasteful is when a deal pops up they not only take advantage of it but find the time to gloat and tell everyone they've bought 3, 4, 5 of the item in question, essentially whatever stock there was! Thankfully, I still believe it's a reflection of the person and not the community in general. Won't stop me from posting the rare deal I come across but just find it sad.

I only manage to get one (there was only one on display) at 8am. Then went back at 9.30am. Seen the staff carrying one, coming out the stock room and when I query about it. She said its the last one for a customer just wow so they been keeping them all in the back hm :/
