A real Silentnight mattress

With over 60 years of experience as the UK's favourite bed and mattress manufacturer we have made it our mission to use our passion, experience, knowledge and vast sleep expertise at the forefront of our thinking to help everyone find their perfect sleep solutions.

The Silentnight Mattress-Now 7-Zone is a real mattress which is vacuum packed and rolled for your convenience. The mattress is suitable for divan bases or bedsteads and is guaranteed for 5 years.

Special features

Pressure Relieving: Reduced pressure on joints to help relieve minor aches and pains.

More Sleep Space: High density Miratex foam support to the very edge of the mattress with no roll-off for more sleep space.

Full size mattress: Full size mattress suitable for Bedstead and Divan style bases.

Soft Knit Cover: Touch soft knitted cover for comfort.

Hypoallergenic: Hypoallergenic and dust-mite resistant for healthy sleep.

No Need to Turn: No need to turn over, simply rotate regularly for even wear.

2 easy steps

Your mattress will be delivered vacuum packed and rolled, all you need to do is take it to your room of choice and follow these 2 easy steps.

1. Unroll
Unwrap and place on bed. Once opened the mattress cannot be re-rolled.

2. Allow to settle
After 24 hours your mattress will have settled to a perfectly flat shape.

Memory foam

The mattress features a responsive layer of body-moulding memory foam for the ultimate pressure relieving comfort.

7 zone support

The 7-Zone mattress offers support for 7 zones of your body, with soft support for your shoulders and firmer support for your hips and lower back.

Purotex friendly bacteria

Allergy UK approved probiotics keep the mattress naturally fresh, healthy and dust-mite free.

The probiotic treatment, works on the same principle as the probiotic yogurt drinks, by putting friendly bacteria into the fabric of the mattress.

As you sleep, your body pressure activates the friendly bacteria, which quickly multiply to outnumber and replace any harmful bacteria in the bed.

Silentnight 5 year guarantee

All Silentnight mattresses come with a 5 year guarantee. Please ensure that you read and comply with the Warranty Conditions and Care Instructions found in the Care Leaflet that will be supplied with your mattress. The guarantee does not affect your statutory rights.

Using this mattress an a slatted base

When used with a wooden slat bedstead, the slats should be smooth, preferably with chamfered edges to prevent cut through to the underside of the mattress.
The minimum width of slats should be 70mm. The maximum space between slats should be 100mm.
The slats should support the entire length of the mattress ie. Slat ladder length should be the same length as the mattress.
The slats should be secured to the bedstead properly to prevent movement.
This mattress is not recommended for use on a bedstead with tubular steel bars instead of slats, as these do not offer uniform support and can cut into the upholstery causing ridges in the sleeping surface.

I sleep on the non-memory foam equivalent from Silentnight for the past 5 years and found it absolutely comfortable. I decided against the memory foam version when I tried both in the shop. The memory foam was very hard compared to the one I have now. It maybe diferent for you, though. Price is excellent.

Just ordered the double coming on Wednesday, hopefully better then the mattress we have now nothing but back ache and rubbish sleeps on it.

I wanted to buy this couple of weeks ago, what puts me off is they come delivered rolled up like a rug vacuum packaged and need 24 hours layed out to fully expand

I was the same at first but thought I need to give it a try for the price. It's meant to be here before 1pm on Wednesday so if it needs 24hours to settle I will post on Friday what I think of it. I really hoping it is good from some of the reviews on it.

I purchased this mattress for my son just before Xmas, excellent mattress for the price, very comfy. I wouldn't worry about it coming rolled...it bounces into shape when you unroll it, I would say it was ready to sleep on after a few hours.

Got mine from Dreams last year, unrolled it and it took about 4 hours to fully expand and it's still just as comfy as the day we bought it.

The 7 zone is much much better than the 3 zone. I keep checking the prices for the king but I never catch it right!! Waiting for it to hit 170 again

After seeing this deal i kept a kingsize in my basket to keep an eye on and it dropped yesterday to £169.. so i put an order in. But went back up almost immediately! Try using the camelcamel alerts.

Just arrived at 11am so I have put it on the bed and allowing it to rest hopefully be ready to use by later and not have to wait the full 24hrs.

They don't even tell you the thickness of the memory foam layer. Why would anyone buy a mattress without knowing that? Also it would be nice if Silentnight told you the density of the memory foam they use. It should be at least 75kg per metre cubed for it to give you proper support. I would be suspicious of any mattress that doesn't include this information. Only the ignorant will buy this.

You seem to assume that the those who have bought this product have not done their own research. This carries its own ignorance does it not?

There is no mention of the 3cm layer of memory foam on Amazon where this page links to, so you must have got that from somewhere else. It's not even mentioned on their own website. But if correct then 3cm is nowhere near enough memory foam.

If that is true then tell me what the density of the memory foam is. Go ahead and prove me wrong.

Yes I read a few different websites before buying to get as much info as I could before just buying it.
I'm laying on it right now and 3cm is enough for me. My old mattress was coils and rubbish so this is a big improvent compared to it. Yes it's not the best mattress and not the most expensive one you can buy but it's doing a better job then the last one so I'm really happy with it.

Found this on silent night website

The density of the memory foam is too low and the thickness of the memory foam layer is totally inadequate. I can't see how 3cm of relatively low density memory foam can provide much support but you and others seem to be happy with it.

I find it hard to believe anyone would be happy with this, but apparently you are.

I have no need to lie, if it was rubbish I'd say it was rubbish but like I have said its a big improvement from my last mattress. So I'm really happy with it.

Foam density of 70 kg/m3 or greater is considered exceptionally high. Most high quality mattress manufacturers use memory foam that is 55 kg/m3

Very high levels such as 75-80 kg/m3 are used infrequently in mattresses, however some manufacturers have been known to use very high density memory foam with varying levels of success.

The reason most manufacturers use 55kg/m3 is because it is a lot cheaper than the higher densities. Despite this, you could have got 75kg/m3 or higher for about the same price as this Silentnight mattress and it would have been a much thicker layer of memory foam too. It just goes to show what a little research can yield.

Have to say I got a good nights sleep last night as did my partner. Normally wake up with lower back ache but this morning I had no back ache. So I think it was a really good purchase and cant wait to get back in bed tonight.

but 85kg/m3 will be really firm and retain heat a lot longer than standard density so that may not suit everybody. Personally I think this is a great deal for a 'basic' memory foam mattress and if you want top quality then you should buy a Tempur one and stop complaining.

I don't see it as complaining but more as warning buyers who have no idea that this mattress is very low spec even at this price.

We missed the low price of the king size mattress recently; and so have been monitoring it regularly; but only yesterday we decided we might be better off having a deeper memory mattress and researched mattresses from hypnia.

We opted for a king size 25cm version; which is £170 delivered from hypnia.com;

hypnia.com/mat…tml

but then found their ebay outlet store and the same new mattress cost £150; and so we've ordered from ebay - it should arrive tomorrow.

But just noticed that the king size Slientnight mattress is now only £169 from amazon - if anyone is interested

but be quick as the price will shoot back up soon.

Just a little update had this just over a week now and I still think it was a really good purchase its like its banished mine and my partners back ache. We are both getting great nights sleep since we got it so I would recommend getting a memory foam mattress to people.

This experience is backed up by surveys on memory foam mattress owners. In those surveys, it did not matter whether the owners had an expensive Tempur or a cheap memory foam mattress. Customer satisfaction was about the same for both.

when can we expect the price to drop again?

aj2001

when can we expect the price to drop again?

I don't think you can anticpate a price drop; the last price drop to £169 was at Jun 27, 2013 12:55 PM and it had returned to £229 at Jun 27, 2013 5:39 PM.

As price drops only last for a few hours - its best to follow heavygoodz advice above and sign up with CamelCamelCamel and set up a price alert; they will email you when amazon drops the price again.

thanks devlee

169.00 now so better than 199.00 atleast, if they reduce further than will see

It has been great since I bought it, waking up with no pain or aches. A good thing about it is that when my partner moves I really cant feel it like when we had the old mattress so I don't end up getting disturbed in the middle of the night with movement from them. I bought a Tesco mattress protector THIS for my old mattress so I have just put this on the mattress mainly because I have it.
It does retain a good bit of heat so with these summer nights it is warm of a night so we are using just a sheet instead of a duvet.

Its people like you that make these forums/ websites worthwile thank you.

Nice link for a protector for a fab price
