Yes you can use this to record to PC and also if you use plex, can use it to record shows into plex and even series link them

You can also do the same with Emby if that suits your requirements more than Plex. I'm doing exactly this with Emby and it works perfectly. I just wish they would release a FreeSat version.

Oh I did use Emby a few times but had forgot about it, so I could use that too. Thank you
Roku have a beta app for this now too so can stream directly to my stick!

Emby's live TV streaming is absolutely rubbish having just tried it yesterday on a slightly slower WiFi connection abroad. Plex live TV streaming is fine but Emby's one is just a frozen picture. Glad I didn't pay for their lifetime subscription.

Yes, although the live TV and DVR options in Emby are now part of Emby Premier. So require a paid for license.

Never had a problem with it myself. I use it out of the house to my mobile or laptop over a VPN and only have 5 Mbps upload and it works fine. I have never tried Plex to compare it to.
Don't you need to have a Plex pass to record?
If only it did satellite. Good buy though!
