Save 20% via Amazon on the HDHomeRun Duo and Quatro Network Tuners.

Allows you to receiver free-to-air broadcast HDTV from your digital TV aerial and send over your home network to various smart devices (Shield, Smart Phone, Tablet etc...). You can use your NAS device to record your favourite shows or films.

If you integrate it with PLEX, you can use their EPG guide without having to pay the Silicondust subscription.

Been waiting for the price to drop and just saw that Amazon has dropped the price today.

Have the dual tuner version and it works fine with plex. especially now the plex guide isn't horrible on Roku.
Mine is brilliant, only complaint is the default HDHomeRun app is kinda crap and tends to totally crash my Fire TV Stick.

Any recommendations for an alternative? Figure there should be plenty of choices as it just appears as any other DLNA server on the network. My other TV (smart one) supports it natively with no app.

Wish they did a freesat version in the UK. I wouldn't mind being able to record my kids cartoons he likes directly to my Plex server but don't currently have a Freeview aerial.

The free channels app works well. Playback only is free or subscription to record

You can do it with a OpenTV Box like a ZGemma unit as you can access the recordings over it's Web Interface unlike Freesat which is locked down, I do recommend installing the Wooshbuild Infinity custom image on it so you can make it act like a Sky or Freesat box in look and feel. I have the ZGemma H9S which a is a single tuner model but it was only £59 off ebay.

If you want an EPG for recording are there any subscription-free options? (presumably the Plex option requires a subscription?)
