The 3d isofix base seems to be discontinued.

The car seat that is compatible with the 3d is the ventura plus. It's around quite a while. The simplicity is the newer model.
The simplicity is reduced too from £150 to £80 it did well in the crash tests.

For any silver cross car seat consider your pushchair too when buying as they are only compatible with silver cross pushchairs.
Others like the Cybex / Maxi cosi / Joie / besafe carseats are compatible with many brands of pushchair, so your options for a pushchair bargain are extensive.

You're better off investing in an ISOFIX which takes both the small car seat and the next one up. It will save you money in the long run

It might if you get one on offer save money though the maxi cosi and besafe toddler seats that sit on the bases are at least equally expensive and and often more so than a decent toddler seat that doesn't use a base. At least a toddler seat that doesn't use a base frees it up to reuse the infant seat. Depends on your plans I guess.

With the new laws and safety guidelines, it's recommended that toddlers are kept rear facing until they are 4 years old.
