Very basic bike but will get you from A to B. I realise this is likely to be of fairly low quality but for the price, it's still a bargain. Way cheaper than anything similar on eBay.

can anyone explain how to determine the size of a MTB? quite confusing I'm seeing some using a value but others jut using small, medium, large. I'm a 5'9" male.

Inside leg measurements. I come out as a large, 5'11" with 32inch leg but when I ordered my large Giant mtb it was far too big and the bike shop had to build me up a medium. I would say you're a medium, if not a small if you have less than 32inch legs

good price they were going for £120 nd that was discounted.was gonna buy me and my son 1.till I read the reviews. still hot for the price tho.

I'm 6' 1 with an 31'' inside leg and was told by Halford I'd be looking at a 20'' bike. Please anyone tell me if that's wrong as I'm keeping an eye out for a deal for this site bike. Thanks

All depends on how the manufacturers decide to size their frames. One firms large/20" is not the same as another's. Risking sounding like a snob, a bike that costs 50 quid with 'suspension' won't have had much thought out into it so it probably won't make much difference either way. At least a smaller frame should weigh a bit less.

They will only be on sale at 120 for the minimum time they can so they can claim its reduced. I'm not sure these even count as deals as A) They are awful and not worth £50, let alone comedy RRP and B) Someone somewhere is always flogging something similar for a similar price. It's not like any of the BSOs are appreciably better than each other.

will this be good for a 5 day a week commute? 6 miles each way?

That's nigh on walkable so yes, it will do it. However a 'normal' bicycle that hasnt had its budget wasted on heavy, lookalike suspension will do it faster and be more durable. I realise it's a lot more money but a Carrera Subway for £150-200ish will be a far nicer bike to ride and last longer if looked after. I hate these cheap bikes as people will ride them and think cycling is crap. A bit like wondering what the fuss is all about with a playstation if you're playing it through an old 14" portable!

I also hate the waste, when it does wear out sports direct will be no use in providing spares and your local bike shop won't stock the non standard bushings, nevermind the fact that the hourly rate to repair it will effectively right it off. Tesco get their £99 bikes at £12 delivered from China. No proper bike firm has that much profit in their "expensive" bikes.

Sorry for the rant but im passionate about the topic!

Don't do it

Wouldn't be my choice for that. Full suspension is normally for doing trials (although I do not think this would cope with those tbh)

Seen others trying to commute on things like this expending a lot of energy kangoroo'ing rather than it being placed going forwards - on the plus that will mean that 5 days a week 6 miles each way would be very good exercise albeit a bit demotivating.

If not sure and wanting a tempter to see if you would then its not much money to waste, but if you take to it expect to bin this quite quickly - I would suggest a hybrid for being closer to a racer but more sturdy or if some cobbles/towpaths on commute maybe something with lockable front suspension at most.

will be very heavy bought my son one and ended up buying a second hand aluminium framed bike from eBay which he is much happier with
