Reminds me of the back area of the Catterick infantry training centre....army life is the best. Good running

Banned

never heard of hi tec wouldn't wear them round the house

One of them brands you were bullied at school if you wore.

Picked up 2 pairs in the last hi tec sale, not like they used to be, poorish quality, one pair arrived which looked like seconds, and they've played havoc with my ankles.
For me, best left in the past and viewed with rose-tinted specs.

Military Basic Training trainers! Cold cold cold. Just for all the bad memories

30 years ago they were one of the best trainers you could buy

used be (probs still are) found in sports direct at the same cost which Older gents usually would buy.

What's up with grey-heads wearing them? If we are going to look stupid in trainers they might as well be cheap ones

Haha that's hilarious lol so true and dunlops remember seeing them for about £60 a couple years back and laughing at the thought of back in the day

Hardly a running shoe!

I am old and bought a pair for jogging last autumn. They are not as sturdy as the ones I remember but they are comfortable.

Yes, and i was, because i could not afford Adidas

Wow can't believe they still make these, do they still do Dunlop Green Flash as well?

i ran 5 half marathons wearing them and still wear them today on my treadmill.... extremely comfortable and affordable... nike @ £100 were just a dream for the working man in the 80's...

I was actually speaking about them, to an older guy in my running club, they were the original running shoe back in 82-83 along with some reebok models, the guy still takes training and still has the club 10km and 1/2 records, goes to show all your Garmins, Gels and fancy shoes ain't nothing compared to training and dedication.......in saying that I will stick with my brooks, but no that going back me and my brooks against my coach and his silver shadows I'm never getting near him.....heat all the same good find

Or for a similar price a running shoe with better cushioning.

I have run quite a bit in these (As i'm sure a lot of people have) and they will ruin your back/knees/ankles.

I realise that it's down to an individuals running style and physicality but you can get a really decent pair of runners from any number of specialised shops (Who will measure your gait to find a good pair) from under £40. My current NB's were a revelation at £38

That said these have a certain 'retro' quality..... heave some heat :-)

Who remembers Ascot aswell?

Anyone got any Matchstick or Mercury links??

Does anyone remember Nicks brand.

Most comfortable trainers I have ever worn. I had them in basic training 20 years ago and have had a pair ever since.

now £34.99. Pity really ....

Why does thid say expired when the code still works and t trainers are still available?

its 17,49 WITH THE CODE

Shaaaaammmmmeee you Joey

I wish they`d re-release the hi tops with the day-glow lemon & lime flashes that I had at school in the mid 80`s..

these were the official army trainers of choice in the early 90s. so funny

Dont know anywhere where i said there was a problem?
just saying what the usual was. everyone buys what they are happy with.. These are cheap and nothing like they used to be

Bought 2 pairs in the summer when they had massive discounts but returned both back. Disappointing as I was hoping they were as good as they were in the 80s
