That's a good point dawny, a damn good point!

I've got to try this. I've been lost since Tesco stopped selling value white chocolate at 33p per 200g bar

Listen Mick, I'm pretty honed and gorgeous, so don't want to risk it. Could you report back if anything untoward happens?

We bought some of this to make rice crispie cakes with our 3 year old as Tesco seem to have stopped stocking their value range of cooking and eating choc...it is a bargain but does lack in flavour as it's only a chocolate flavoured product..not quite as good as the real stuff but worth a go.

I wouldn't. Cooking chocolate isn't really chocolate. It's made with fat and cocoa powder to give it a chocolate flavour.

Sainsbury's sells value (basics) chocolate at that price.
Edited by: "raeble" 13th Mar 2011

Sainsbury's basics chocolate is good and not fake cooking stuff like the silver spoon or scotbloc. Use it for baking all the time.

A tip to save money when a recipe calls for 70% dark choc - use a bar of two of the sainsbury's basics dark (around 55% I think) and a bar of lidl's 85% and they balance out nicely.

This is the same price as Asda has been for a couple of months

will have a look in my local store as this will come in really handy as i have to bake 6 different types of cakes for my sons school bake sale on friday for comic relief, got my apron out ready as thursday is going to be very busy for me!

we bought the 50p bags of choc chips in white and milk to make cookies with and they were gorgeous.
I'll be getting some more this week if they still have them.
