I am tempted to get one for my daughter and put it up for Christmas. Has anyone got any experiences with Silvercrest tellys?

I bought last week a 22" DIGITREX LCD TV from Currys with freeview in fact everything that the silvercrest has but for £159.00 less Quidco of £4.77 so £155.23 possible , the only thing it doesnt have is its only HD not full HD , but it is hard to tell a difference on a 22" screen. The picture is fantastic on the DIGITREX and I have recorded onto a USB stick already as well. So £20 less from currys.

I'm not knocking the deal, but isn't this a better deal? It's the same size and seems to have the same features, but comes from a a better-known manufacturer and is around £10.00 less.

Features or a link to the product so I can see what the features are would be good.

Blimey, I missed that lol. Doesn't stand out so well on the new site.

I would say yes and no. Yes because it's an LG and that set comes with a 3 year warranty as standard, and no because it doesn't do MP3, AVI or JPG via USB. I read the manual. If there is a hack or something then it is a better deal for sure. USB media playback is the only thing the LG seems to be lacking.

You can get a hack for the LG, as i have done this by using a philips remote control for around £10 of ebay - you just have to alter a setting in the one of the menus. It will play AVI and Xvid just look on the forums

But this tv comes with a 3 year guarantee. With richer sound you have to pay extra for extended guarantee

The LG is meant to come with a 3 year warranty where ever it's sold.

I shall look into this hack next.

Edit: Regards the hack. It is possible LG have disabled said hack like they Samsung did with newer versions of the B550 series.

"I also checked out an older M227WD (no P model) and there doesn't seem to be an option to enable the USB port at all."
