Great deal if this is native resolution and not fake 4k Like the other budget action cameras. It's just been released so no reviews yet, would be good to know what this is a rebadge of
I'd like to know what the battery life is and if they sell spares. I'm guessing it will be around an hour.

Apart from the video quality & image stabilisation will be poop and your footage will be unusable.
I've wasted too much time and money buying cheap action cameras. They're just not worth it, if the camera isn't stationary.

Upload from 2013. I doubt its the same cam.
Last Silvercrest 1080p Action Cam I bought, turned out to be an upscaled 720p camera with a woeful quality and quickly returned. Wonder if this will be the same trick ?

5-6 years old model ;-)
As said elsewhere, without stabilization these won't be amazing. They'll tick boxes for some folks but if they're expecting what's on YouTube they'll be sorely disappointed.
Unless they drop money on a gimbal, but that's another story altogether.
Does it have GPS? Can't find it mentioned in specs

If they have failed to mention something that significant (same with stabilisation), I would go with no.

That review above is an old model 5MP i believe. I purchased the newer one today but nowhere does it mention battery life which is annoying

Hi, I purchased mine this morning and have been trying it out all day.
The quality of this is superb and battery life is amazing and much more than 1 hour. I did a time lapse video today and set it for 60 minutes. The screen was on for the full hour and only one bar disappeared from the battery.
It was telling me on the screen that there was just over 2 hours left on the battery.
It is an 1100mAh and it will last a while. I scouted the internet for spare batteries and I stumbled on an "AKASO V50 Pro 2 x 1100mAh Rechargeable Action Camera Battery with USB Dual Charger" for £19.99 on Amazon. Yes! 2 batteries and a charger.
This camera is an actual AKASO V50 and the batteries are identicle so these will work in the Lidl camera.
I have been testing the camera on and off all day and it is really good for the price and I would say indeed it is on par with the new GoPro. I have not used a GoPro and I am just telling you in my own opinion. I have been a fan of the SJ cameras but I have changed my mind now.

Listen!!!
It is an AKASO with the Lidl's brand on it. The Lidl brand is "SILVERCREST"
All I am saying is it you need spare batteries then look for the "AKASO" V50. They are the same batteries and they are the same Camera. Yes it is a SAK 4000 A1, same as the AKASO. Buy an AKASO and they are the Same as these Silvercrest. Both are made in Germany.
It took me a while to find out that the batteries and the camera are the same but trust me they are.
This is the link to the batteries and charger: smile.amazon.co.uk/AKA…8-6

Look at both pictures then tell me they are not the same????? 😁

It's a Silvercrest. The SAK 4000 A1 is what it really is and that is the AKASO V50.
Did you ask for the camera when checking out because they do not put them on show. The IAN is 313595
And yes it is a SAK 4000 A1 and is made in Germany. There is a sticker inside the battery compartment and it does have the info on. I will try to take a snapshot.
Look at the pics.
First pic is the box it came in obviously.
Second is the best I can do of the label inside the camera.
Third one is the actual Akaso 2 spare batteries and the charger.

Sum it all up for you:
Yes! It is a SAK 4000 A1 but but lidl's own brand is "Silvercrest".
Same as the "AKASO V50" if you need the spare batteries.
There is also another branded camera exactly the same as the lidl and the Akaso but I am not going to confuse you any more.
The only reason I say it is the same as the "AKASO V50" is because this is the only camera that is identicle and the batteries fit.
You will not get a Go-Pro battery to fit or any other battery to fit barring the AKASO V50 and the other one I will not mention.

Is the video completely stabilised to gimbal level when the camera is used for shots while actually moving? The only camera on the market that can do that currently is the GoPro Hero 7 Black with 'Hypersmooth'. If this can do the same, I'm buying one tomorrow.

On par with which new GoPro please? There are three with the top end one having image stabilisation that looks as good as having a mechanical gimbal from what I have seen on YouTube. That camera costs over 300 quid which I am not prepared to spend!
Gray this is not the akaso v50 as if you actually looked on Amazon you would see the v50 is 20mp and this is 13mp so it’s clearly not the same. Still a good deal

Have you tried anything bigger than a 64gb sdcard in this? I know it states 64gb but I know some devices accept larger cards than they specify.

Doubt anyone can claim this is as good as GoPro but as a good value for money compared to similar in spec but far more expensive this would be a better choice than Yi muvi etc.

Yes after reading about the new Go-Pro I can see now how really good it is and especially some of the reviews on YouTube.
I would love a Go-Pro but I will never be able to afford one so I went for this and I am happy with it.
It really is a nice camera for the price.
Any chance someone could upload 4k sample footage to YouTube or somewhere? Ta

Thanks for posting, that stabilization looks great considering its on your handle bars! I was thinking of using a chest strap on my bike.

Need to see if they have any left now! Never seen them in my local last week, will no doubt have to ask.
