How would I know whether this will fit into my Golf Mark V?

Does a Golf mark V have a standard DIN fitting radio?

If not, you may need an adapter from Halfords/eBay... Or from the place in the link below:

It most likely will, you may need to buy an additional adapter for a few quid to match up with the wiring. It's just the problems you face afterwords such as loss of steering wheel controls, clock, central locking... Depends on the car of course and some things can be sorted with extra leads but it starts adding up. To guess, almost positive it'll fit, but it may not switch on and off with ignition, and you will lose steering wheel controls if you've got them already with the stock stereo.

Edit: Didn't know about the fascia adapters above, combine the information and you're probably on the right track.

Bought this last time out at £49.99 (in fact, it was me that posted the deal!), it's a great wee unit.

Can someone clear up a few things about this unit and stereos in general, will this be able to play music from my phone through bluetooth? Will it play from usb also? And I have a subwoofer (fairly sure it has built in amp), this will be able to connect to that right?
And this is standard size so all i will need is a fascia for it to connect to Fiesta mk6? Thanks

any headunit that doesn't switch off with the ignition is just wired up wrong, nothing to do with the headunit itself

I wonder if I bring this unit to Halford would they install for me? Or are there any shop will provide the service with low cost?

I've got the Aldi Maxtek one but I'm guessing this will be similar.

Subwoofer: If your sub has "Speaker In" or "High Level In", then yes (just wire speaker outputs to it). If your sub has only "Phono In" the head unit will need Phono Out.

I think all modern stereos are standard 1x/2x DIN sized, but on my Maxtek I had to remove the cage it came with (Didn't need it as screwed into the cage in my car) and this meant I had to invalidate the warranty! (sticker was on head unit over one of the screw holes I needed)

Can't answer about the subwoofer, but it definitely will play from a phone via bluetooth or USB, or SD card also.

how easy are these to fit? got a corsa 03 plate and not much knowledge lol

Thanks for the replies.
Disappointingly, both Lidl stores at my location had no units in stock

Obviously nothing wrong with the head unit itself, it's more the cars compatibility with it and as I said, there are cables that can be purchased to sort such problems (alternatively play around with the wires yourself).

great price, thanks op.

it will depend on the car manufacturers' setup of battery/ignition live wires, if it doesn't work correctly, you just need to swop these 2 (usually red/yellow)

Brilliant heat

Think it's usually VW's that you need to switch these two over - if you don't it loses stored settings every time you take the key out

curse the honda jazz and it's big moulded fascia that requires a £160+ bracket to be fitted first!!!

How's the hands free bit work?

The hands free bit on the Aldi version works like this, if someone calls you to answer you have to press a button on the head unit. If you want to make a call you have make a call as normal on your handset which then goes through the head unit.

Has this been sold I couldn't find it. Can someone email me Mod Edit

just fitted one to a skoda fabia...you must swap the red/yellow wires (supplied harness) to keep the stations....also for VW you will also need an aerial amplifier which connects to the blue wire of the harness.
Bluetooth telephone works very well.
