does this come with a remote ?

thanks. will keep it in mind as I could use another fan. we're fighting over the one we have just now. just wonder how they compair to the round spinny ones.

I'd vote it cold, well cooler anyway. The heatwave could be over by 9th July

It'll be snowing by then

Bought one the last time they were on sale. Very flimsy and probably won't last too long. Ended up returning it.

Bought one of these last time, still working

I was looking at the extended forecast for July, and although not as hot as it is now, it said it will stay pretty warm for the whole month.

Can recommend using one at the minute

gonna need a heater by 9th July

Taller and occupy less floor space

Can't comment on the Lidl one, but got a £20 one from Tesco last week, it moves more air and is less rickety than a similarly priced 16" pedestal fan my brother got from Argos a few years ago, gets in the way less and the noise level is similar. But no where near as powerful as an old 1970s? 12" desk fan I have - although the air flow is much smoother, if you're bothered by "buffeting" that the dyson fan try to make such a big deal about.

The Tesco one is well built and doesn't creak or click when it's on oscillate, but is currently out of stock, B&Q have the same one,but it is 5 quid more.

Tesco currently have their 48" tower fan with remote back in stock @ £30., which seems a bit of a bargain.

. My main reason for going for a tower fan is it doesn't get in the way quite as much as a conventional fan if I have it by an open door to draw cool air into the room.

Bought 4 of these last year and they have been very good - certainly help the room feel cooler and not overly noisy (you can obviously hear the fan going, but on speed setting 1 or 2 I'd say it's perfectly acceptable for a bedroom). The timer (although quite basic) is also remarkably handy for bedtimes.

Expensive? That flipping cheap for a tower fan.

I got one of these and, while it works really well as a neat space saving fan, I find it a bit too noisy even on its lowest speed. There is no way I could put up with the noise of it on the highest speed unfortunately.

Argos value tower fan is £30, great reviews and bought the time works well. Lidl one looks good especially at 3 year warranty :-)

I bought a lidl tower fan for bedroom 10 years ago it's still going strong. I will be buying another for another room. ☺

Are you serious? this is probably the cheapest you will find a fan this size with those specs.

Got one of these last time they had them. Very good for the price.

Poor quality

Jase thought per your own postings you don't shop at Aldi and Lidl, suddenly you're able to comment? Or is it just the usual anti-Lidl or Aldi drivel?
Hot from me.

No thanks. Always have a bottle of cold water with me

Hoping the tesco one comes back into stock as i can get 20% staff discount next week.

Just been and bought a couple of black tower fans, not many left unless they had more in the back

I have just bought 2 black ones too. Have got one on now and very happy with it, good power, some noise but only as much as expected and no creaking or clicking so far when it turns.

Great item for the price... Well made , quite powerful
, reasonably quiet and a 3 yr warranty all for under £20. I got 3
