I have 2 sets of these, slightly older design. Work well on hidden extension lead behind living room units to control tv, dvd, fire stick, lamps, etc. Much easier to set-up than Wi-Fi plugs. I've still to get a sonoff rf bridge perhaps to allow control via local home assistant, but these things are old school that just work. Definitely cheaper than similar plugs from Energenie etc.
Would these work through a ceiling? So I could reboot my router and/or the Powerline adapter that's connected directly to it, both in my loft, using the remote while stood in the hallway directly below? I guess they would be about 5-6 feet apart with the usual plasterboard/joists/loft insulation inbetween.

My elderly neighbours have a few of these, used on fans in summer and lights year round. Nice and simple. I did try to get them smart plugs, and explained about timers and voice activation. They turn off their router/cable box at night, and didn't want an alexa in every room, so... These stayed in place, and still work fine. Buttons on the remote are relatively chunky as well. A recent remote control light bulb purchase came with a smooth small bubbled remote. His old thumbs couldn't get it to work, so back to one of these and the bulb in a desk light.

Sometimes old school simple is easier

These are very flakey. I got a set the last time Lidl had them and all four plugs failed within a year. The idea is great but not this set. I ended up with the Eveready version which has worked flawlessly for years.

Tried these to remove headlight on my car, they were not very useful. Going to revert to my old socket set
Seriously just go for a cheap mesh WIFI set up or cabled powerline adapters.

Are these RF or IR does anyone know? Tia
    The manual spec says 433MHz

Pretty good price for 4X RF controlled sockets!
Keep in mind though that they can only control fairly low current devices (4A MAX)
