If you are voting cold please tell me where I can find a better PSU which can handle at least 1000W?
I'm putting together an X99 motherboard with i7-4930k, 64GB RAM, GTX 1080 graphics and I'll be working with NVidia Tesla K40 and Xeon Phi cards. I've only got 1st gen Xeon Phi at present, but it's 300W per card, which is a bit of a sod.

Most of us do not need PSU that is more than 800W and I guess this is why you get a cold votes.
It is a bit overkill for any of us.
You may have a good deal for yourself Sir, but not many of us will ever benefit (or save) on it.

Not many people will need or benefit from a £14,000 trip of a lifetime in a Mig either, but that doesn't stop it getting hot! People should vote for whether a deal is good, not whether or not they personally need one.

I hope it's a case of it performing better than rated, if it's just getting bare minimum of silver (87% @ 100% draw) that's 200W wasted (and thus exiting the PSU as heat) at full load.

Looks good though, my 700W is struggling a little, drawing about 600W off the wall powering dual xeons and a GTX 970. Wouldn't want to push it much further.

True, but on HUKD voting surprise me too. Some deals that are available only in 1 or 2 stores across all UK are getting more than 1000 HOT and other are being voted cold and few days later when posted again situation changes and votes are going high.
For example last deal from Motorola. - It is below 1000 Hot and should be a LOT more (cheap phones, free smartwaches with only delivery to be paid)

Heat from me. A rarity if you need something like this but a great price either way.

heated.

3 buts

1 its an older model/range
2 80Plus silver
3 80mm fan

for the price its a lot of watts for your cash.

if this size is needed, it is a bargain. Difference in consumption between this and a platinum would be no more that 70-80w extra at full 1350w

you missed the special refurbished offer recently from the corsair range @scan, the AX1200i was at £139 and the RM1000i £89 got one of each and as usual that stuff is same as new to me. Always keep an eye, they usually come back.
If any good they still got the RM850i but at £89 too, you can comfortably run 2x gtx1080 with this one

at this wattage I'd go for at least gold plus, and also check the OEM manufacturer. You wanna stick to superflower or seasonic as something as powerful as this really needs to be top quality.

Thanks for the recommendations. I've come across Seasonic before but not heard of Superflower.

Bit late to the party, but here's a review of this unit: jonnyguru.com/mod…325 - TLDR: not that great, especially for the price.

Anything Seasonic (or made by them, like most XFX units), or higher end EVGAs and Corsairs would be a better choice. This XFX unit is cheaper and made by Seasonic, so will have a much better build quality.
