Maybe not trash I guess but not great compared to other flagships. No 4k60, video becomes blurry mess at night, slow mo video is rubbish etc...
Anyone ordered from here before?
For £230 more they give you 25GB on Vodafone plus Spotify Premium so as usual the contract deals are better.
Tempted to buy the contract and sell the phone which after selling the Sonos + Quidco would leave me with 25GB of data + Spotify Premium for £10 so basically a free contract with 25GB for 2 years.
Is it worth the hassle as I can get the SIM only deal but with 20GB for £16 so would be saving 6x24 = £144?
Which is almost exactly what I paid for a Nokia 8 yesterday!

If that's the case I'm I'm sure it's nothing they won't resolve in a software update pretty soon. The phone is not even out here yet

They won't be adding 4k60 support as the SoC does not support it. See:

Yea I know, I have the view 20 with the Kirin 980 also. I'm referring to the alleged blurry night time video. That will definitely be fixed via software update if it is an issue.
P30 Pro mess about with video featured here

Bet the speaker will be worth more like £120. Ebay will be flooded with them.
I've put a price match request into John Lewis. Figure that £795 less say £120 for Sonos speaker means this will only cost about £675 in the end.

Submitted yesterday and waiting for reply, normally within 24 hours. Worked last time I price matched against fonehouse with the galaxy s9 when Samsung were also offering £100 cashback. I will keep you updated

Does anyone know when you'd get delivery from fonehouse? It says order now for delivery within the next 30 days, rather than the release date which is Friday

Good Spot. Be interesting to know
Orders yesterday and when it was saying within the next 7days and got an email saying 8th April estimated delivery. Maybe they are running out.

I would say so yes, Huawei phones have always been a bit crap when it comes to video. I wouldn’t upgrade from a P20 Pro.
Does anyone know if the P30 pro cones with a clear case like other Huawei models?

Nothing to do with the Leica camera, it's to do with limitations of the hardware transcoder in the Kirin 980 not supporting 4k60 encode

Yes, and I believe video is still pretty mediocre on the P30 even regardless of the maximum frame rate and resolution. A bright video isn't the only metric for judging good video quality. The iPhone and Samsungs are just about the best overall performers at the moment IMO. The Mate 20 was good enough but no better than average.

Just ordered, expected delivery is showing as 6th April. Did Topcashback £5 and will sell the Sonos (at least £120) and that should bring price of the phone to £670 or less. Have the P20 Pro at the moment and very happy with that but felt like treating myself.
Had a chance to look at this phone
Had high expectations especially the camera but was left disappointed 😥. Huawei still lacks behind Samsung imo. Colours are not natural over exposed

I've looked at quite a few reviews and they favour the P30 Pro over the S10 for photos.

More photo albums are starting to leak. It’s very much looking akin to the Mate 20 Pro in terms of overall image quality. The zoom and night modes are a great new party trick that could occasionally come in handy but I’m not expecting any major image quality gains VS the Mate 20 - which I didn’t personally think had a very good camera VS the iPhone, Pixel and Samsung. It’s great if you’re into shooting RAW and editing in Lightroom but I don’t really seek to do that on my phone - I have a camera for that - so I just want good auto snaps. Don’t believe the hype about the RYYB sensor - 40% more light is nice, but in reality that’s not even one f stop. In actual fact if you want to be bamboozled with confusing percentages, the light sensitivity gains made by changing from 1/200th of a second to 1/100th of a second is 20% higher than a 40% image improvement on the main sensor. If you ever use manual settings on a camera you’ll know that this is not a game-changing difference.

When it comes to taking pictures with tiny sensors, every little bit helps - so 40% more light is an advantage - combine that with OIS & other trickery should give it the edge...
Just had a bad personal experience with fonehouse. Ordered sim free online which processed fine, and the amount was and still is pending on my account. 2 hours later I was emailed a cancellation. I called them and they said it was a security issue but if I sent proof of address & Id they would resolve and reinstate it. I sent some id, but again the cancellation was upheld. I have perfect credit & enough in the account for the purchase (no contract) and they refused to tell me why it was cancelled. Very unhappy. Anyone managed to get a full order? I'm wondering if they can't afford to supply it at this price?
I purchased online sim free. Got email asking for proof of ID, even though it was just a sim free purchase. Did that and no response, so I rang and cancelled. Won't be using them again
